Lg 42lk450 Television

Our last Television stopped working so it was a mad dash to Curry's to buy a new one last week. We originally went to look at a Samsung that I had researched on the internet that was on special offer. But as usual my OH spotted this LG which had a bigger screen for the same price !!

Initially I was apprehensive as I have never had an LG TV, but when the sales guy told me that LG make the screens for Samsung I was little eased. When we saw it in action in store the picture was lovely. We bought it for £429 and took it home.

Set up was simple, although the instruction booklet only really detailed the installation of the stand. You will need a degree in electronics to understand the diagrams !!! We had to put the CD in the computer and download the guide to work out the rest of it in plain English !

By accessing to Input menu we could designate how the signal was to be received by the TV ( ours was through the Sky HD cable ) and then BINGO ! the front room filled up with images !

A beautiful picture even on the factory settings. After a while we fiddled with the display to our liking using the in built picture wizard ( which is very cool !)

there are lots of different modes to watch TV in, and if we play the Wii then we can put it on a special gaming option so it keeps up with the graphics. Not really sure if I can see much of a difference but apparently there is !

Very easy to operate, the DVD player can be played through the AV channel by pressing the input button and scrolling to AV. I will be buying a new surround sound to go with it at a later date.

TV can be turned on and off and volume and programmes turned up and down, by placing fingers on the lights on the frame. No buttons, just lights. Very clever, although could be an issue for those with tiny children with sticky fingers !

It sits quite sturdy on the stand and the TV rotates on it. I can have the stand sitting straight on my TV unit and the TV will tilt to the correct viewing position. Does not have to sit wonky !

All in all, a super TV at a bargain price. Some might say it is too big for my lounge, but my OH is happy !

Top TV !
