I was at my friend's house to watch football (soccer for us Americans) on his computer. When I arrived, he was all excited because he just got a cable that would allow him to put the game on his flatscreen, so we could watch the Tottenham Hotspur without having to squint. 5 minutes before the game, he's scrambling around because he couldn't find the magic cable. About 10 minutes into the game, he runs out of his room with tears of joy, I'm kidding, and he plugged the laptop into the tv and boom, we had the game on his big ol' flatscreen. It was great. A few more people trickled into the apartment, ooohhhing and aaahhing at what we had going. Then, with about 7 minutes left in the game, someone got up to get something to drink, forgot there was a cable running from the laptop to the flatscreen, and turned that cable into a trip wire. The computer flew off the coffee table, and the TV almost fell off the wall. Luckily there was no real damage, but it could have been waaaay worse.

I took two lessons away from that day. First, I wanted to be able to watch things from my laptop on my flatscreen. I had the MLB.tv subscription, and they broadcast in hi def. If there was a way for me to watch that on my tv, I needed to find it. But that comes with a caveat that is my second lesson of that day: Never run a cable from your laptop across the floor, especially when it's plugged into something like a flatscreen hi def tv.

I took that opportunity to do what I do best, surf the internet looking for cool stuff. After a few minutes of searching, I stumbled upon www.ezairwireless.com. Hello, what's this? EZVIEW? A device that allows you to stream audio/visual content to from your laptop to your flatscreen or projector, wirelessly? Words could not describe my excitement. After checking out the specs, my mind was made up. I needed one. So I bought one at a nice price of $149. The folks at EZAir Wireless were even nice enough to ship for free.

A few days later it was delivered, just in time for the start of the playoffs. I was so fired up. I popped the installation disc in, plugged the adapter into one of the USB slots on my laptop, plugged the HDMI cable (which was included) into my tv and to the adapter, and I never looked back. Now, whenever I have something on my laptop that I need to do, I just stream it to my flatscreen. It's amazing. Movies, internet surfing, work, you name it. I can even take it to work to stream presentations on our projector. My only complaint is that I wish I had found this thing before.
