On The Face Of It The Toshiba Rd-vx48dt-k-tb Looks
On the face of it The Toshiba RD-VX48DT-K-TB looks a well equipped box. However it is the most unintuitive piece of kit I have ever owned. The remote is not laid out well. If you want to pause live TV, you can't just hit the pause button. You have to prepare the box each time by putting it into "Time slip" mode. It's a million miles away from the ease of Sky+!
The EPG is awful. As you scroll through channels, each channel appears behind the listing. To change to that channel you think you hit the big button in the middle. No. That takes you to the unfriendly recording screen. To select the channel you have to remember the channel number, press "Back" and then manually go to that channel.
No thought appears to have been given to the ease of use, though if you can put up with that, it has some good features.
