Relatively easy to record to HDD
DVD drive failed after 2 yearsRegular U80 errors being reported due to Freeview signal - but nowhere does it tell you this in the manual! Therefore I do not recommend the Panasonic DMR-EX85/
I find this product easy to use, but i agree with the comments above about the u80 errors, which drove me nuts at times.I didnt know it was due to the freeview signal. My hard drive has now failed after 5yrs, was thinking of buying a panasonic EX83EB but the comments on that model are not very good, so dont know what to do.

Though The Panasonic Dmr-ex85 Has A Dvd Player Bui
Though the Panasonic DMR-EX85 has a DVD player built in, it is nowhere near as intuitive to use as the Humax PVR, better to buy the Humax and a separate DVD player.
