I Have Owned This Machine For Three Years, Mostly
I have owned this machine for three years, mostly using the hard drive for recording. The DVD section has had little use but when copying a film from the hard drive to the DVD it stopped half way and showed error messages. I took it to the Panasonic repair agents who charge £23.50 to assess the condition. They have advised me that it needs a new DVD drive assembly (cost £145.58) and with labour and VAT the full estimate is for £212.18.
This is about the discount price of a new machine. Buyer beware, this is my second Panasonic DVD recorder and the first one failed after two years. Bad mistake to buy Panasonic after that experience as their reliability is poor and the repair costs are ridiculous.

The Panasonic Dmr-ex77eb Is A Nice Quality Product
The Panasonic DMR-EX77EB is a nice quality product which I'm very pleased with. Fantastically easy to record to either DVD or hard disk drive.
Great quality playback (on 32" analogue Panasonic CRT).
Digital tuner = freeview channels.
Chucked out 3 units (VHS recorder, freeview box and old DVD analogue recorder) for this sleek 160 GIG machine.
