When I First Bought This Item It Was Fine,but Afte

when i first bought this item it was fine,but after about a month the screen would go blue and the hard drive would need initialising. this problem got worse and worse and because it is out of warranty i could not send it back so i opened it up and disconnected the hard drive, it now works fine but without the record and playback function which obviously defeats the purpose but i now use it in the spare room just as a receiver.

As A Retailer Selling This Product Over 200 Sold E

as a retailer selling this product over 200 sold every single one has now been returned unrepairable fault on machine i can't belive some places are selling this product still try humax pvr 9150 as an alternative seems excellent so far touch wood

Daewoo Dsd9503t If Your Having Problems With Loopi

Daewoo DSD9503T If your having problems with looping on and off keeps resetting. This works for me try this unplug box and remove the aerial from the back power on the box again now go to menu down to setup click OK down to configuration click OK go down to receiver upgrade click OK click right arrow change to disable now press menu and press menue again to come out next play a recording that runs for one hour at the end reconnect your aerial again if you still have the problem unplug the aerial again and keep playing old recording for another two hours until it behaves is self again my box is still working and I did this over a year ago few weeks after buying it, my brother box had the same problem and the above idea was tried a year ago too and we never had this problem ever again so get them old Daewoo DSD9503T out of the loft and have a go.

Both of our box's are still working I was watching loads of stuff tonight and my brother he was using his too.

This worked for me. I bought a refurbished Daewoo DSD9503T, when my Daewoo DSD9502T stopped working after 5/6 years. I loved the easy use of the interface/epg/1touch recording/3 programmes alert facility, etc, so had to have the same one again. After 3 months of no probs, I re-tuned prompted by a constant message on Film4, stating that if I could see the message then I needed to re-tune to ensure that I received the best quality service on Film4. After the re-tune all seemed well, but that night and subsequent night, at 11pm to 4/5am, the freeview reception was interupted by initialising looping, inbetween which the daewoo would connect for a few seconds each time. From 5am to 11pm was absolutely fine. Following the instructions in the above review, ie: disable receiver upgrade, this I could do during the time (5am to 11pm) that the Daewoo was working perfectly, the following night there was absolutely no disconnection/installation looping. I was delighted, so thank you very much this reviewer. I owe you one ; ).

Disk initialised numerous times per night.

Screen suddenly went blue

Didn't record as programmed.

When playing what it did record, on a couple of occasions, the screen pixelated and repeated the same scene for about two minutes.

Daewoo help desk was good in arranging to have the first unit exchanged, unfortunalely the replacement was far worse!

My Daewoo DSD9503T keeps locking up and has a high pitched hum some times

changes channel randomly

If it works reliably its a good product - but mine seems to have a software fault

Was Working Fine For 1st Eleven Months, Now In Har

was working fine for 1st eleven months, now in hard drive initilisation loop (seems to be lots of people with same issues) daewoo sent local engineer who says cannot be fixed, awaiting return and refund.

I Have Never Had A Problem With Mine, But Bought O

I have never had a problem with mine, but bought one for my parents which goes into the 'hard disk needs initialising' never-ending loop which disables all recording functions and means it is little more than a very expensive freeview box. Has been replaced twice so now 'm giving up and going with another manufacturer

We Have Had This Machine For Just Over A Month, An

We have had this machine for just over a month, and it has broken down already. The only message we have on the screen is that the hard drive is being initialised. This has taken all evening so far! Daewoo customer service is closed, presumably for the whole of the Bank holiday weekend, so we will be without a recorder for several days.

I am having the same problem after four months of use. I am sending mine back and requesting a refund. Seems quite a few people are having the same issues with this unit
