Overall This Is A Pretty Reasonable Piece Of Kit.
Overall this is a pretty reasonable piece of kit.
It sits between my home NAS drive (where I store all my photos, videos etc) and my TV.
Basically it performs two functions; firstly it allows my Tv to view more file formats that it could otherwise (not that interesting...) and secondly it puts a nice user interface on the viewing of videos and photos (and music if I wanted to) when I view them via my TV.
The user interface is pretty good, but not perfect.
The box occasionaly freezes which is quite annoying (it lost a whole star in my review because of that - but might just be a fault with my box).
Its a very small box and sits very discretely under my Tv. I have it connected to my NAS drive via a electricity powerline ethernet connection, which is excellent and pretty fast.
Overall it means that we view our home photos and videos a lot more than we would if we just had them on the PC - so in that respect this product is doing its key task. It could be a bit better, but it is at the lower end of the price range for media streamers, so I think you get what you pay for here (we paid about £85 in May 2010)
