Had Mine (in Cambridge) For Almost A Year Now. Get

Had mine (in Cambridge) for almost a year now. Gets a good number of channels no problem with little interference. Easy to use while it works; my only problems with the design are the EPG which will only list one channel at a time (my parents' Wharfedale unit does a full grid where you can see what's on all channels at once) and the 'volume' bar which is right near the middle of the screen and hangs around far to long after adjusting the volume.

The main problem I have with this though, is the reliability of the software. It regularly (at least once a day) freezes onto a channel and stops responding to the remote. The only way to remedy this is to pull the mains lead out of the back of the unit for a few seconds and replace it. It occasionally also has a few less disruptive faults like the volume bar flashing on and off three times or the info bar disappearing.

This could be half decent if it worked properly but it's become so regularly frustrating that I've just bought a replacement and will put my axe through the Philips the next time it freezes up.

We Live In A Flat On The Second Floor And Our Aeri

We live in a flat on the second floor and our aerial is suitable for freeview. The aerial is higher than anything in 1 mile diameter but still we keep losing the best channels. We also have the box connected through a good scart lead.We initially went for this freeview box as it was a philips and cost was intermediate.I would definately not recommend this product to anyone.

Just Bought This Philips Dtr2520/05 From Argos. I

Just bought this Philips DTR2520/05 from Argos. I received Film4, The Hits, TMF & FTN with an old cheap Goodmans box - replaced it with the Phillips and these stations have disappeared - replaced it and the replacement one doesn't work either.
