So, Why Would I Rate It?, And Why Would I Recommen
So, why would i rate it?, and why would i recommend it to a freind? Well, for 24 quid, you have the choice of about 5 different makes and models out there, maybe more. But, they don't all have scart in/out, and most don't have a audio out.
I can't grumble at 20 quid plus vat (makro, incase your interested). It even has a LCD on the front of the unit. Maybe a software update can fix the remote lag? and i will put the freeze up, and hatch patterns down to the area i live (even with my recently installed amplified digi aerial)
"you pays your money, you takes your chance...."
Hi. Since I wrote the above, and have been using the Bush DFTA5 freeview box for a week or two - FORGET IT! It's hopeless! It's going back, and I wouldn't recommend it any longer! The problem seems to be that it won't display 'animated' or CGI sequences of any form - whether it be an advert or CBeebies (yes - probably the most important channel to our two year old)! Secondly, the remote is really getting on our nerves, as you have to be square on to the box, at the right angle, and within 3 meters - pathetic...
We also bought the Scart adaptor (from Bush). We thought we had a duff one, replaced it, but it also suffered from the animation problem above, BUT its remote was MUCH better; easy to use, and worked as you would expect it to - still not a reason to buy it though...
