The Above Comments Should Surely Speak For Themse
The above comments should surely speak for themselves. Pity really, this Bush Freeview box is a nice looking and compact piece of equipment, purchased as a birthday present in April 2007.
Hi
I have just purchased one of these and firstly I think it looks great. That's where the good news ends I am afraid. The bad news is that my box also when it is on standby turns itself back on during the night. I have narrowed it down to between midnight and 3.00am. However it is fine when I leave it during the day. It is really weird. Can anyone help? I assume it may be doing an automatic daily scan of some sort. Also when I come to use the box the next day often there is a complete loss of sound so I end up having to reboot it almost on a daily basis.Very annoying. The only apparent way round this is to leave the box on all the time which is not ideal. Also the picture size defaults to Pillar Box which is a pain as all channels that are not broadcast in widescreen, notably Sky Sports News, I now have to manually select Wide on the remote every time I select the channel. Again very annoying.

This Box Is Good For People Who Aren't Really Both
This box is good for people who aren't really bothered about spending a small amount of money of a Freeview box and would just replace it when it malfunctioned.
Personally I'd rather get the Wharfedale DV832BN over the DFTA14 as the reviews I have read are very good.
Q&A
I purchased new in 2007, this product has operated perfectly until recently. It was disconnected from the power supply for a few days whilst the house was rewired. Upon reconnection it did not initially power up. After checking connections and in plug fuse were sound, it was again reconnected to power, upon which the stand by light flashed on and off. I left it for several minutes, and the stand by light illuminated permanently and I was then able to power on to access the menu to perform a channel search. The scan was taking place but finding no channels. Clearing it for initial set up process and operating a further scan, again no channels were found.
An alternative set top box was connected and performed perfectly, finding all channels. I can only assume that the set top box for some reason developed an internal fault when disconnected or is there something I have overlooked or not considered? Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome before I decide to replace.
