I Think The Schneider Dvd 857 Dvd Player Is Pretty
I think the Schneider DVD 857 DVD player is pretty good but i have had it a while now and it is starting to reject discs I have made.
DVD + RW it generally doesnt have a problem with and usually DVD- are ok.
Recently though It has started refusing to play DVD-disks I have burnt same project on a dvd+ RW and it worked ok first time tried it two days later it wouldnt play opened and closed the player it loaded fine.
What is with this player ?
I have tested the discs on other dvd players and no other dvd player I have tried them on has rejected them.
I would be interested in seeing if this is a common fault because as I said it worked well when it was new.
The use of a head cleaner seems to have helped the type I used plays an audio track after cleaning and it took four attempts before the audio track played through.
Mine is a household of smoker's so maybe this contributes certainly disks it was rejecting now play ok. I was ready to buy a new player but it's generally working well now.
I've had the player for just about a year now and mine has stopped reading DVD+R discs. I have other DVDs (SONY, Panasonic and an XBOX) and they read the discs fine. Maybe it does have a problem.

This Schneider Dvd 857 Player Seems To Be Able To
This Schneider dvd 857 player seems to be able to handle all formats of payback, including Jpeg. Music playback is pretty good, brighter than the(admittedly quite old) CD player it replaces.
Lots of options to enhance playback of DVD's, and looks OK too. Remote multi region hack (well documented elsewhere) accepted no problem. Biggest gripe is the remote, which is not very intuitively laid out and cluttered. Otherwise, I am well chuffed.

I Purchased The Schneider Dvd 857 From Asda And Co
I purchased the Schneider DVD 857 from Asda and Couldn't believe that the price had been reduced to £37.99. It plays everything, once in the cabinet it looks expensive, came complete with all leads possible, and 3 year warrenty. I need some more discs to test fully, but first impressions are excellent.

I Paid £250 For My Last Dvd Player And When
I paid £250 for my last DVD player and when the broke down last week I decided to take a chance and get low price player. Only had this a week but so far I am really impressed. Its handled evrything I've thrown at it so far (Region 1 DVDs, VCDs, Audio CDs, and MP3s). The picture and sound quality is great for the price paid (£59 from Asda).
Try this it should bring it back on line use the 0 option then you can play all.

It worked but now it won't play region "2" disk's any help ??
Tried the hack again to no avail??
I have a schnider 857 from Asda yes its good on region2 but mine does not like region 1, have I missed a trick here?

Been Looking For A Little While Now For A Replacem
Been looking for a little while now for a replacement DVD for my Samsung 709. Looked at many around the £100 mark without any improvemnt on my old machine, infact many were worse. Saw this machine in Asda reduced to £58!!! took it home, plugged it in. It plays everything I want it to play very, very well, with a better picture and sound than I am used too. I've got the full 5.1 set up which runs very well. Don't just sit there go and get one...infact for the money get two.

Dont Get Me Wrong Its A Great Little Machine For T
Dont get me wrong its a great little machine for the price, it played bulkpaq dvd are fine but I couldn't get it to play any VCD XVCD SVCD or XSVCD flawlessly, it would always distort the movie about 40 mins through. I used 6 or 7 different brands of media and datasafe blue turned out the better result, its now back on the asda shelf and I am awaiting my Kiiro 838d.

Fantastic Machine, If The S-video Output Worked. T
Fantastic machine, if the S-Video output worked. Tried to get Asda to reduce the price as they are selling faulty machines - but they wouldn't. Didn't withdraw them from sale either. You can buy the Umax DVD2100 which has all same features but works (!) for £64.99 saving £25. In light of this I returned the Schneider and bought the Umax from Silicon Group. Have also seen the Umax for £75. It's a better buy for a fully workling machine, and cheaper! Sorry Schneider, but good effort....
On sale now at less than £60 in Asda. Oh and the Svhs works fine if you set it up in the setup menu. With a sextet of speakers from Aldi I now have a home theatre system for less than £100. Great buy.
got this player from asda for 89£ have no problem
with svideo output ( you have to enter the output
in the menu)scart or svideo
