This Scan Sc200 Dvd Player, Despite Its Few Faults
This Scan SC200 DVD player, despite its few faults, is value for money and quite highly featured. One of the best fetures is its ability to play virtually any DVD in any format from any region, as well as MP3's burned onto a CD, Audio CD's VCD's etc.
Mine had a problem from new in that certain films had subtitles on all the time, and as mine was an earlier non-flashable BIOS version, I had to get two chips sent to me (This took nearly 2 months from Scan - despite being assured it was "In the post"), which involved taikng the DVD apart to swap - not difficult, but not for the faint hearted. The newer ones have frequent firmware updates in the form of an image which has to be burned to a CD, which is then used to update the DVD player.
It has its faults, it isn't perfect, but it IS value for money. The multi-region feature is probably worth the asking price alone if like me you get CD's from friends in the US. I'm no expert in quality, but to me the picture is great!. If you want technically superior products with proper techical support, then this isn't for you - if you just want a cheap DVD player, you can't go wrong.

The Scan SC200 DVD player is a bargain - easy to use, plays anything (multi-region, VCDs, MP3s etc...), and produces excellent quality playback. It's also well screwed together and has a nice remote. Worth every penny and more.

I Checked Out Many Dvd Players Before Deciding On
I checked out many DVD players before deciding on the Scan SC200, I also heard good reviews about it.
I have had this player for well over a year now and it cost me under £200.
It has a good remote control and inside the box was the instruction for changing to Multi region, easy!
I have also played VCDs,and Karaoke VCDs,Audio CDs and CDRs, and MP3 on CD.
Well worth the money.

The Scan SC200 is the best kept secret in DVD Players.
Scan on-line (www.scan.co.uk) have comissioned their own-brand DVD player and it typically cost and IMHO it's the best there is for under 200 quid.
It's won awards from all-over (see the web-site) - oh and it plays MP3 files from a PC CD.
