This Camera Is Great!
Easy to use, many functions, fast, and an exceptional value. Unlike other cameras I've had, this has never given me problems. I have more expensive cameras but I love the Nikon D300. My son is entering the picture and he already wants to take me!

Yeah,Nikon D300 is pretty good.It came into the market in August 2007.It has came into the market quite sometime. The price is reasonable.Just now I find a very special one on busytrade.com.To my surprise the brand is Nokia,I don't know if this camera of this brand is good or not.

Does everything it says it will, and then some. Is somewhat pricey and bulky to use for someone who needs a camera seldomly but when you use this, photos turn out perfectly. Best to learn how to use all the features and also on how totaled great photo with an SLR. Look online for great deals or buy from your local camera store if they offer free lessons with your purchase.

Bought the Nikon D300 as an ex demo' with only 320 shutter operation /shots.
The Pros'... Nikon Build quality. Pro level spec.Definately better than lower models great in low light ,Replaced by the much hyped D300s (not worth the extra really, basically for a video fearure)get a 300 ..top - top camera 11/10
The Cons...Although not cheap it is a superb camera for the Money.Stunning.

Best camera I've have picked up since the legendary FE2 or the FA series 30 years ago.
Had a D80,which is now relagated to a back up ..happy days!
Want another 300 really. :-/

The best APS-C DSLR on the market at the moment, by a long way. I use it at weddings, for portraits, landscapes,.... just a fabulous all-rounder. Build quality is excellent and performance reliable. Picture quality is astonishing for a small sensor camera. I love it.

Before Buying Any Camera I Would Advise People To
Before buying any camera I would advise people to go to a real dealers and actually try holding the camera and using it for a few minutes with the lenses you want to use. I say this because I went to a dealers after reading many reviews to buy the Nikon D90 and ended up with the D300, simply because paired with the lens I most wanted (the 105mm Macro) the D300 fitted my hands perfectly and the D90 didn't. This is a heavy camera but one where you feel the engineering quality, after a while you can concentrate on the picture / viewfinder and know the controls are where you want them. The build quality is superb, I have dropped it (once, but from height!) taken over 6000 pictures and the thing looks like new. The viewfinder is excellent, another factor which led me to pick it over the D90. The lens selection is also very good, I love the 105 macro, the 18-200 zoom is a use all day lens and I have recently bought the excellent 11-16mm Tokina to play with wide angle.

Bought This D300 As A Backup To A Nikon D700 (well
Bought this D300 as a backup to a Nikon D700 (well you never can tell), performs just as well and sometimes forget which is which!
Went for a 300 over another 700 (besides cost) was for the smaller sensor giving a 1.5x extra zoom. Ok ISO not quite as good but nice to have the extra reach with a 300mm!
