Stacks Of Features, But Poor On Photo Quality

This camera is a huge let down, it promises much with a very good spec sheet; gps, hd video, auto panorama, wide angle lens, etc, etc, etc but the bottom line only Auto panorama is any good, as features like HD video are totally ruined by wind noise, bottom line image quality is ok below Iso 400 but still lacks clarity & sharpness, auto white balance is erratic at best, and above iso 400 because of Sony's anti noise control everything turns to mush, the much praised HHT (hand held twilight) really needs a tripod or support to get the best results, so calling it THT (tripod held twilight), would be more accurate.

If you want a camera with lots of features and more importantly very good image quality at least until iso 800 I'd buy something else.

Sony's service is also far from being exemplary as I have requested information on a possible firmware update etc that might improve higher iso photo quality, unsurprisingly a response never came. Avoid the HX5v.
