I Bought My Samsung Scl860 Camera In October Of 20
I bought my Samsung SCL860 camera in October of 2003, in order to video a play from one of the local amusement parks. I had looked at many other cameras like this and found that for the price, this was the best camera for me. It has a 2.5" LCD, which is great for recording in dimly lit places, as it is color and shows you what you are get'n on the tape. It has a 22x optical zoom, which at the time was one of the longets... This zoom is good enought to get me from the back row and put me right up on stage. I have not taken the camera off the "easy" setting and moving into the "custom" setting since the easy mode works so well for what I use it for. It has several "special effects", which make for really interesting shots. I am really impressed with this camera look forward to many more years of use. I am somewhat at a loss for what the digital zoom is, as it tends only to make the object blocky and not good taping at all. Also, the camera has a still photo-mode, which I must say, on a film camera I think is a waste. If this had been a digital (or record'n onto a disc), it might be useful but at this time, I do not see a need for a still photograph on a film camera. If you are someone who is just looking for a camera to get start'd on or just looking to change from your current camera to a new one, I highly recommend this one. I do recommend having 2 fully charged batteries, aside from the one which comes with the camera, so you'll be able to use the camera all day.
