Superb Lens. I Bought This Lens Brand New In The 1
Superb Lens. I bought this lens brand new in the 1980s and used it with my Pentax SFX. I have recently bought a Pentax K20D DSLR and the Vivitar absolutely knocks the socks off the 18-55 kit lens that came with the K20D. It's worth forgoing the AF and the AE. This lens is sharp to the edges and the vignetting with full frame is gone with the smaller sensor of the DSLR - highly recommended

This Vivitar Series I 28-90mm/2.8-3.5 Lens..as Far
This Vivitar Series I 28-90mm/2.8-3.5 lens..as far back as I can remember..was by just about all of the major photo mags back then rated as the sharpest macro lens in existence; along with a Zeiss that cost ...well..you can guess? The rave reviews were incredible: resolution, CA (cromatic aberation; oin-cushion distortion; barrel distortion,...etc., etc., were all superb. As stated, no one had a better lens except for a few Zeiss lenses! I still use mine on a Nikon D3x and D700! Modern comparisons..NONE! Look for one one in good shaped..you _won't_ be disapointed! Cheers

This Is My Workhorse. I've Been Using It For Years
This is my workhorse. I've been using it for years. I use it on a Yashica FX-3 body and it has never let me down. To see photos that were taken using this lens, Go to www.RobValineimages.com and type Vivitar 28-90mm in the search box. Most of my photos are keyworded with the lenses and films that were used to take them.

I Owned A Vivitar Series I 28-90mm Lens About 5-6
I owned a Vivitar Series I 28-90mm lens about 5-6 years ago. Lens shows signs of heavy use by professional. It's very good lens from old times that in right hands can make very sharp shots with great colours. This lens has macro focusing from 25cm. It's hard to focus with this lens on distances more than 1m, because in that range you need to turn lens very gentelly to focus correctly due it's small range of turning. Because this lens has very short DOF range it's very good for portraits. Even by today's standart this lens gives sharpness in level of best lenses that cost far over 1000$. My best shots are made with this lens.
