This Lens Is Very Sharp At Almost All Apertures An

This lens is very sharp at almost all apertures and lengths. At 2.8 it is a little bit softer in the extreme borders but no more so than the nikon and sigma equivalents. The autofocus is fine, if a little slower than the competition and the lack of a focus limiter doesn't help. The 0,95m close focus is excellent and beats the others by a mile. True macro it is not, but at 200mm 2.8 it is a pretty useful tool. The bokeh is good. The zoom and focus rings work well but the focus range is finicky in that even a slight movement will push it out of focus. The push/pull af/mf cam is fine - i have this on other lenses - though a full-time override woul be great. The lens is well built and fairly heavy (nowhere near as heavy as the Tokina). With a 5 year warranty and prices at around £600 this lens is a very good deal.
