The Nikon 28-80 Af G Series Is Very Sharp On My Ni

The Nikon 28-80 AF G Series is Very sharp on my Nikon D700. Very good colors. Sometimes it is almost as sharp as my Nikon 14-24. Ultralight.

I think that lenses are less important than photographers and cameras. I have always had very good pictures using this lens on my D700. Ideal for travelling.

Extremely Sharp On Nikon D3 At F9. Cant See A

Extremely sharp on nikon D3 at f9.

Cant see any difference between this and my 60 mm nikon macro lens!

Nice and sharp, but feels loose and plasticky...

Well recommend Nikon 28-80 AF G Series...

Nikon 28-80 Af G Series - Mostly This Lens Is Part

Nikon 28-80 AF G Series - Mostly this lens is part of a package sold together with the Nikon budget bodies F55, F65 and F75. The barrel is completely of plastic (which makes it very lightweight but also vulnerable to kinetic impacts) and has no f-stop ring. This limits the use to the latest AF-generation of cameras, older bodies like the F801s or F4s can only be used in 'P'rogrammed mode.

Be aware of strong light coming from the side, the lens produces heavy stray-light artefacts.

Using polarizing filter is a pain, because the filter screw-in is directly on the rotating focusing-ring and whenever the filter (or lens-hood) is touched the focus-distance drifts away from the subject.

This Nikon 28-80 Af G Series Along With The 28-100

This Nikon 28-80 AF G Series along with the 28-100 is nikons budget zoom for all its new auto fous film cameras.

it can also be used on the newer digital cameras giving you a 42-120 sized lens.

you have to be slightly more protective of this lens as it can get knocked out of alignment with very heavy usage, as some reports say.

but i have hammered my two versions (silver and black) and had no problems yet.

dont expect to get 12 x 16 pin sharp enlargements out of this lens. but you will get close with using 25 iso film and a tripod.

but its designed to be used hand held with 100-400 iso film and will give a very nice 6 x 4 and 8 x 10 with no trouble.

I found this review very helpful because...Lens was still in good operating condition after unintentional physical abuse. Ideal for hand held with 100-400 asa film.
