Xperia X10 Mini I Test Drived X10 Mini Hoping It W

Xperia X10 mini I test drived X10 mini hoping it would be alternative to X10. Phone is smaller and fits pocket really well. It integrates with your google account, contacts, email, facebook and all social media you can imagine. Slide qwerty keyboard works well and touchscreen is of great quality. Phone comes with high quality in ear headphones. Call quality is great, easy to use however battery life is one day so I had to make sure I carry my charger with me. Overall its a great phone with great facilities but battery life needs to be improved.

Sony Ericsson Have Been Very Ambitious With This S

Sony Ericsson have been very ambitious with this scaled down version on the Xperia. Too ambitious? Perhaps. The phone is very small, which is great if you're a 'phone in my pocket' type person. The positives? It's small, you can use Android apps (to varying degrees) and it has a qwerty keyboard.

What's not to like? Well, a phone this small, with a slide out keypad, really doesn't work as a touchscreen device. The surface is too small for human fingers to be quick AND accurate. It would work a lot better if the keys were the keys and the display was just a display.

If you have small children, you can't lock this phone. If the keypad is slid out, it's unlocked.

The camera, at 5Mpx, is poorly controlled so those 5Mpx are never taken advantage of.

Battery life is poor at best.

It has some strange software quirks that pop up from time to time that make me think that this isn't a well tested device. Mine will reboot itself, which is odd and leaves your faith in it's reliability a bit shaken.

It's not all bad though. I've always had good reception, the GPS works great (I've used copilot live on it since I got it) which makes it very useful as a pocket sized satnav. Store your contacts on Google? Use Facebook? If so, this phone integrates contact info very well.

All in all, it's a no from me. Personally, it's too fiddly and I think it would suit a geeky teenager far better.

I've since moved on to iPhone, and I now realise that other manufacturers have got a long way to go to catch up.

This Phone Has A Lot Going For It, Sony Have Loade

This phone has a lot going for it, sony have loaded with an impressive list of features but therin lies its one big problem, and it really is a big problem - a problem that has led me to reluctantly send it back.

Whats the problem? Simply put - the battery life, its awful, really abysmal.

I've had the phone for 4 days and its spent the majority of that time on charge - and boy does it take a long time tom charge (10 hours overnight and its stil not fully charged) even with features turned off, screen resolution/berightness on low, app killer installed and with minimal use the battery is dead by the end of the day. This phone drains power at an alarming rate.

Other problems? The camera sometimes doesnt work, it freezes when switching on/off and the touchscreen doesnt work when switching on afetr a long period of being switched off (the only way i've found to resolve this is to take the back off, remove the battery and restart)

Sony have simply been too ambitious and loaded the phone with more features than it can handle.

Pity, as it really is a nice little phone!

First Impressions? Wow, It's Small - Very Small, T

First impressions? Wow, it's small - very small, those with big hands may well want to look elsewhere!

The x10 mini pro packs a very impressive list of features into its tiny yet sturdy shell, the pull out keyboard works a treat after a couple of days getting used to it, the touchscreen is responsive and the 5mp camera produces very good quality images. Fast internet accesss and good for social networking using Sony's 'timescape' system.

Negatives? The Battery life is not good, in fact it borders on poor - I dont use the phone a huge amount (my old Nokia 6700 classic used to last a good 3 days after a full charge) but I find I have to charge this every evening even after minimum use - and it takes a long time to reach full charge. Also it only has Android 1.6 - although this is due an upgrade in the near future.

Overall, recommended - but not for those with big hands/fingers, or for heavy users of the internet!

This Phone Has Lots Of Great Features, However I H

This phone has lots of great features, however I had major trouble with the first one I had. Touch screen did not work well, dialed out and connected to the internet on it's own.

I eventually received a replacement which was a lot better but also ate the battery no matter what. I did everything possible to increase the battery life but have to charge it every night, it will not last 2 days on standby and only about 12 hours if used at all.

I am getting it changed, no use to me.
