My Music Stops Playing Halfway Through A Song :(

I got the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini for my birthday and I was quite happy because I prefer smaller phones. I was happy with it for a while, although when you are writing a text it is quite hard to read through because the screen is so small!

Anyway, I liked it until it made the music stop playing halfway through a song! What happens is it is playing a song, quite normally, but then it stops playing it. I look on my phone and see that it says it is still playing it in the little bar at the top but when I acually go onto the music screen it says it has paused halfway through a totally different song! It's soo frustrating! Please help me :(

And also the battery life is poor and my memory card stopped working.

Xperia X10...ok, But Not Great

To be clear from the start, I've rated this phone as having terrible reception, but the rating is based on 3 network coverage - on that basis there almost certainly isn't a phone on the market that I'd have rated as good, so I guess you need to reference other reviews to get balance on that opinion.

So, to the features that aren't affected by a lousy network. Design and styling are nice, but enforce some limits on the overall functionality of the phone - it's small, so it has a small low res screen. It's cheaply enough made to be thrown in free on low monthly contracts, but doesn't really 'feel' cheap, which is nice.

The X10 is old tech, so the touchscreen lags hideously, and the processor is slow, even by the standards of that generation of smartphones.

Battery life is short, but pretty much average for a smartphone at 24(ish) hours - does anyone do one that's much better than that? My current HTC Sensation does 24-30hrs, and most of the people I know with iPhones reckon 24hrs or thereabouts, so I'm definitely calling average for battery life.

Camera is poor, as mentioned in other reviews, although I was never sure if the worst aspect of the images was caused by shake or just abyssmal focus. I also had the apparently common problem of the phone simply cutting off the instant I pressed dial, and as that happened even at times when I was roaming and not reliant on 3's 'coverage', i'm going to go ahead and say that's down to poor firmware/hardware in the phone.

Overall, OK by the market standards of its day, but Sony's poor support in terms of updating OS versions right from the start put me off ever having another one of their products. It's a similar situation to the PS3, really - if software functionality from Sony works one day, don't expect it to still work after the next update because...well...Sony knows best, doesn't it?

Poor Camera

The screen touch is slow, calls hang up as im trying to slide the recieve. Just annoying. The camera on its normal setting is POOR and camera shake is always visible. Not happy with this at all. Great for looks, handy in your pocket but just some really annoying faults on everyday usage.

This Phone Is Verry Small And Fits In The Palm Of

This phone is verry small and fits in the palm of your hand it only supports T9 keyboard and it is not the best to browse the web on as it can be "fiddly" it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack but for some reason it won't work with bose mobile headphones battery is not removeable and has a good camera.

I've Had The Xperia X10 Mini For 3 Months Now And

I've had the xperia x10 mini for 3 months now and so far it is very good.

I have found the menus very intuitive and, once I figured out how to use the keypad during a phone call (for those wonderful call centre options) a very simple system all around.

The camera is of good enough quality but it can't stand up next to a stand alone camera with a proper lens.

It's connectivity is superb - signal is much better than any phone I have had (on 3), the 2 widgets I have put on my top pages allows me to quickly turn data traffic, wireless and GPS on and off. This means that my battery life is regularly over 3 days as I only leave the processes on that I want. The most I have had is 5 days when just using it for phone calls and texts, the least just over one day when I found angry birds on the App market.

The web browser is small and you do have to be careful when trying to navigate but, lets face it, what do you expect when you buy a small phone?!

Overall an excellent phone and, for a simple smartphone user like myself I would strongly recommend it.

This Phone Seemed Like A Great Idea. Its Small An

This phone seemed like a great idea. Its small and should do everything I need it to. Actually, it probably does, but just very badly. Battery life is very poor - 1 day max! The processor is slow, and often takes a while to react to the touchscreen... It often doesn't connect properly when I dial out, its difficult to use, I'm not sure it always rings when called... Next time I'll pay the extra and buy an I-phone.

My Sister Bought The Xperia X10 Mini For £20

My sister bought the Xperia X10 mini for £20 a month on Orange. It is a very cute but tiny phone. It is not at all easy to use. Being so small it is really hard to get what to what you want. The music player is good and the ringtones are loud. The worst thing is that you cannot bluetooth between handsets. My sister had some message and ringtones that she wanted to keep from her old phone. She was told that you cannot bluetooth because it is an Android phone. Unfortunately my sister's pc is incredibly slow so she could not use the software provided. I ended up taking the phone home and installing the software (on the handset not on CD) on my pc, so that I could then transfer the tones from her old handset - a major headache because I was not intending to keep the software. If you want a tiny handset it is great but I would not buy one for myself.

Could Do Better! A Great Looking And L

Could do better!

A great looking and lightweight phone (88g on the mini). And considering it's actually a smartphone all the better - gps, camera, video, wifi, 3g etc etc. and the android operating system. The screen is clear and bright and the functions are slick.

But now for the downsides, and there are many!

This phone is not setup to do anything well? I find it frustrating and some of the icons very confusing, all I want to do is make a call!! but you have to go through so many hoops by the time you get to the end you think..brilliant! I've made it to the end, now how did I do that? It's very much trial and error with many of the menu's! Not figured out how to "save a contact" yet - you know simple stuff.

Using the internet is okay but you can only go back? not forward? and while navigating round the small screen you can easily catch some text and "off you" go to somewhere you never wanted to go! and I've only got small fingers. Youtube doesn't work dispite it being an android phone? still waiting on a call back from the makers on that?

WARNING - GET AN UNLIMITED INTERNET tariff with this phone, as I have yet to find a way to turn it off!??!?

The camera is poor even though stated 5mp and there is no editing software included, the music player is basic and not very easy to find your favourite album. The included pc compatible is useless too? I intended to re-load all my stuff from a previous sony ericsson phone but sony have decided it's no longer "Compatible" and I basically must start from scratch! You no longer store your personal phone book on your pc but must setup an online account.rubbish.

This phone is not user friendly. But looks nice!
