Worst Phone Ive Ever Had Or Ever Will Have!

Ive had a fair bit of bother with technology in my lifetime but this phone has had so many problems, ive lost count, to sum it up, its awful. im counting down the minutes till i can get rid of it & i can safely say when i get a new phone, i will smash this one to bits if it hasn't already done it itself. It doesn't update, cant play music, the app store is awful, you have to pay for almost everything,it struggles to charge, its corrupted so many times, burnt out 2 sim cards, has a mind of its own at times. Can't think of any positives because even the camera is awful, everything looks blurry and dull.

Brilliant Phone

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a great phone. It runs very quickly and smoothly. It has a great design and good screen. The battery also lasts for a good length of time. The only down side to the phone is the operating system. Windows Phone 7/7.8 is a good operation system that runs very smooth and has a good amount of feature but if you want a phone for gaming it may not be best and it does not have as many games available as Android has. Also it does not have many free apps. But despite that I would recommend this phone, Nokia and the operating system to anyone. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t the lack of apps issue with windows 7

Fantastic Phone

I was sceptical about this phone at first .... iPhones are so numerous! I shouldn't have been worried. The phone is indeed 'smart' and easy to use .... interfaces with email well.

Fast reliable and well made. I just love the design. Cant wait to upgrade to the 920!

Guchi Bit Of Kit

The phone is fantastic in every way.

It is easy to use, and the windows running program is second to none.

I have had a HTC windows phone previous and this Nokia is miles better.

Battery lifer isnt the best, but what smart phone is??

The screen is clear and gives great detail in oictures, games etc.

I have dropped mine a few times and it still works, fantasticly.

Highly recocmened

The Lumia - Windows And Nokia Team Up

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first phone that has been released by the collaboration of Nokia and Windows. I am a fan of Nokia phones and had heard a lot about the Windows phone system from xbox live marketing, and i was pleasantly surprised with how well this phone works!

The OS is simple and easy to use but looks really nice, using big blocks of colour to make it stand out. The integration of Xbox live has added some really fun and clever games to the system, however there are not as many to choose from compared to Apple and Android marketplace, but in time there will be more added and it will be able to contend with the competitors.

The phone itself is a nice candy bar design with a AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which has a 480 x 800 pixels resolution and is 3.7 inches big. which works very nicely and feels just right for this sort of phone.

The CPU is 1.4 GHz Scorpion which makes this phone really smooth and fast and has virtually no lag with day to day use.

The camera is 8 MP with Carl Zeiss optics which make it a rather nice camera, you wont be making professional looking photographs but it is still a very nice picture taken with this camera.

So over all a good phone that runs smoothly but lacking a little bit with the apps you can get but the future looks bright for this series of phone.

Pros:

+Windows OS is slick and easy to use

+camera is good quality

+Phone runs very fast and has little lag

+Linked to Xbox Live so a nice selection of good games

+Nice design

Cons:

-Not enough Apps compared to competitors

-screen can be broken easily if dropped

Absolute Rubbish

As a business phone, the Nokia Lumia is rubbish. It was purchased on the strength of the previous Windows mobile software which used MS ActiveSync.

I cannot believe that Microsoft Windows Phone 7 can no longer synchronise with Microsoft Outlook.

As a pretty toy that allows Microsoft to access and control your communications it's probably pretty cool.

Mine sits in it's box in the cupboard and I continue to use my old HTC HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5 professional

I agree, complete toy, lots of functionality for playing games and ckecking facebook but nothing actually useful. No USB functionality, no WiFi tethering, can't name radio stations??? No music/videos/podcasts except via Zune. Very few options for customisation. Privacy - many applications need access to phone/social media data to work. The only good feature is the screen

Nokia Lumia 800

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a very good attempt at Windows phone, firstly the design. The 800 is very sleek and nice to hold, it feels ok when making calls which is a plus, the phone itself is very well made, and doesn't feel like its going to fall apart. The screen is 3.7" which isn't bad, it could be bigger but they need the extra space for the windows keys. The colours that this screen can make and the sharpness of the colours (i must add, when brightness is set to high)are amazing, when added to the 8megapixel camera, this adds to a wonderful display. The user interface is very easy to use, and adding apps, family and friends and whatever you feel like to the main interface is very easy. The amount of apps that are available is growing daily, and there are some very good free apps, including some ok games from Xbox Live. Connectivity on the 800 is generally very good, connecting to email, xbox live, facebook etc...very easy, however i find that the Wifi isn't the best. The only downfall to the Lumia 800 and i'm sure that this goes for all smartphones, is that the battery life isn't amazing, if ike me, you play alot of games and use the internet alot IT WILL DRAIN quite quickly. However there are certain things you can do to prolong this. Turn the brightness down to low, turn battery saver on, close all apps that aren't needed (a little tip, hold the arrow key for a few seconds, and you will see all the apps that are running in the background.) and lastly make sure it is fully charged when you leave home. But all in all, this is a really good phone, and will give its competitors a run for there money.

Very Stylish !!

Awesome design - looks so sleek. Screen is robust. Performance and interface are really good. If you're looking for a first smartphone or a mid-range Windows phone, the Lumia 800 strikes the perfect balance. Both Nokia and Microsoft will be pretty pleased with the first fruits of their partnership.

All style with no subsctance! Unfortunately, having owned a Windows Phone for almost a year, there is a lot lacking in the OS, not to mention the lack of good apps (even the YouTube app by Microsoft is only a link to the mobile YouYube site!).

Mobile Office is nigh on unusable, the phone back button is badly thought out, and multi-tasking is a joke. Apps take an age to start each time, and Bing Maps and search are useless. I have to use Google maps without GPS in the browser to get round London!

Let's hope Nokia wise up and start making Android phones too, otherwise they'll soon be consigned to the same historical dustbin as Ericsson, Alcatel, Sagem, Sendo...
