I paid on a Friday night. Got the answer on Monday asking for more details about the phone and network. After a short period of time I got confirmation of unlock which worked perfectly.

Even though I was told that the iPhone would take 20 days to get it unlocked, I was pleasantly surprised when I got an e-mail in less than a week after I submitted the unlock request. I put the new SIM in the phone and there it was - unlocked!

I was trying to get my AT&T iPhone unlocked but found it real tuff! Eventually I got to this site (iunlox) from google and they said they could do it. I had some problems making payment, but they emailed me and sorted everything out real quick. They got my iphone unlocked in 3 days which was pretty cool as they said 5 days.

Firstly, I want to say that the service provided worked and with that I have no problem.

My issue comes with the manner in which they sell the unlock service, as I feel the website has been set up in quite a sneaky way and I want to warn people of the financial perils that I fell into and the so called Customer Support I received.

To give some background, I am based in the UK and this advice really only concerns other customers based in the EU.

When you head to the pricelist you see a nice big reassuring logo saying “Price Match Promise”, what you may not see, or chose to look at, is the size 4 font terms and conditions, but I’ll come back to that later.

As you scroll down the page you select your service, for me Orange in the UK at £114.99.

You go through the order, paying the amount, only to receive a receipt email 2 minutes later saying you’ve paid £139.99!

Bemused I contacted the Customer Support, who told me that it was subject to VAT.

When I went back to the site, I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page (why someone would do this I don’t know) to find the BOTTOM line, where this is mentioned.

Undeterred I contacted customer services again, as the cost with additional VAT was now more than I would have paid elsewhere and I wanted to trigger the “Price Match Promise”.

However I was then informed that if I read the small print in that one, this could not be done retrospectively. But hang on; I only knew this was more expensive after I had paid for it?

That’s worked out pretty well for them!

Finally, I asked if I could have a receipt for the work done. Something simple with just a company letterhead and the cost including VAT, yet this was too much to ask. In the end I had to submit and left it, I couldn’t take the anguish of dealing with people who live in a World where the customer is always wrong. Get with the program people! You’re supposed to take care of customers, not screw them over in the fine print!

I am very please with this website as they unlocked an iphone i got from ebay and havent been able to use. The person that sold it to me didnt say it was locked and dissapeared off ebay after I got it :(

iUnlox were not only able to tell me the network the phone was locked to but also unlocked it for me.

I cannot thank them enough as I thought I was going to be stuck with nothing more than an expensive ipod.

I am really pleased with this company. Not only did they unlock my iPhone 5 from Orange, they did so in a faster time than they had quoted me.

The phone is no unlocked an I am now able to use it with my O2 simcard.
