I Was Blown Away The First Time I Saw It--it Looks

I was blown away the first time I saw it--it looks cool, sleek, classy and distinct. I haven't seen anyone around with it. What's more is the thought that I have 3G phone and more great features for less than $150 and so I got one right away in the Philippines . But looks can really deceive. It began showing problems on the 6th month shutting down down every now and then, until its power went off totally just this month. Good thing it was covered by a year warranty so the repair, reformatting and everything were still free of charge. To my dismay though, I was told that the unit is for pullout because it was already beyond repair and SE people cannot even explain why. They say the defect is unknown, maybe a factory defect I don't know. Its just broken--can you imagine? Its really good to purchase handsets from a reputable outlet because I was promised a replacement of the unit, yes, but I will have to wait and see for any developments in the next 3 weeks after the defective unit is forwarded to the head office. Whoa, I cant live without a mobile and 3 weeks is like forever! Gosh, I should have trusted the feedbacks that I got earlier from here and got a better unit like K550 or something instead. I really thought its not going to happen to me because all of my previous SE are still good though except for this K610i, all busted in 6 months. Very bad. What a waste!

I Bought The K610im As An Upgrade To My K750i. It

I bought the K610im as an upgrade to my K750i. Its essentially the same phone as the K610i but is black and has imode. Its only available on O2.

The phone is a great all rounder - not excelling in any one area but performing well in all areas. When shopping around I noticed that most phones have a trade off. A good camera phone isn't a great music phone. A small phone will take rubbish pictures. Sony Ericsson have built a phone that addresses this issue and I'm extremely happy with it.

Previous Sony Ericsson mobiles which I have owned have suffered from joystick failure. No chance of that with the K610i as it has a 4 way button - not a joystick. This is the perfect phone to tide you over until the iPhone is released.

Nicely Designed But Unreliable. 3 Customer Service

Nicely designed but unreliable. 3 Customer Service wasn't great with the faulty phones and wrongly insisted that they would only repair and not replace the handset.

Would recommend seeking consumer advice from http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ if you have problems with a new phone/ provider as they were very helpful on my legal rights.

I Got This Sony Ericsson K610i Phone On A Great De

I got this Sony Ericsson K610i phone on a great deal with Three. As we got two contracts for the price of one (with cash-back deal), I certainly can't complain about the price. The phone was free. The look and feel of this phone is great and it certainly has a lot of features.

I have found the software to sync the phone to a PC fantastic, and Outlook works well with it syncing both contacts and calendar. Very easy.

Battery life is not great, possibly as it's 3G, it uses more power, but a USB cable is included so it is not a problem as I can charge it at work.

Not much bad to say about it really. It is the best phone I have had in a long time and I would certainly have another, although by the time this contract is up, I expect another 10 models will have come out by then so I look forward to a 6MP camera in my next phone! Highly recommended.

Apparently One Or Two Users Have Received A Faulty

Apparently one or two users have received a faulty Sony Ericsson K610i, but this is not my case. If the model is faulty, send it back! I initially intended to use it for a week to test it before sending it back, but its just so darn good! Has loads of features for very little money. Who needs a flash on a phone anyway and you don't really surf on a phone, do you?

Very good value for money, especially if you're not a gadget geek and just looking for a very practical every day phone with good 3G features.

Please Bear In Mind That The Handset I'm Reviewing

Please bear in mind that the handset I'm reviewing here is the version on the '3' network here in the UK so a standard Sony Ericsson handset may have some differences to the O/S and software!

Having spent many hours using the K600 and 608i handsets, (which were basically the same phone) the arrival of the K610 should provide a much needed boost to SE's workhorse range. The first thing that struck me about the 610 (apart from its good looks) is how much lighter than the K608 it is and how well it sat in my hand. The body of the phone is plastic, but in true SE style it is beautifully put together and feels a 'quality' piece of kit. The keypad is easy to use for dialling and texting and there is a welcome change in the new centre 'D-Pad' which replaces the tiresome joystick for navigating around the phones menu's. In fact the whole 'button pushing' experience is a lot better on this new phone. As to the display, it is not up to the standard of the K750's TFT display and doesn't have the depth of colour, but to be honest that's just me being picky. In daily use it does the job perfectly well. The K610's operating system will be well familiar to anybody who has used a SE handset in the last 3 years so nothing new there. Some of the older Sony's suffered a bit from 'typing lag' when texting but I can't say I've found that with the 610 so far. On the downside, this phone doesn't have an FM radio built-in so if you go jogging on a morning with Terry Wogan then you'll have to dig out that old Walkman! You can listen to your own music on the K610's music player and the included (with 3G) 64Mb M2 memory card (which is hot swappable) gives you a fair amount of space to store your favourite toons for a couple of times around the park! The back of the K610 has an un-protected lens 2 megapixel fixed focus camera which for daily use is quite sufficient and gives more than acceptable results. Just don't go scrapping the phone back along any walls or all your pictures will have a frosty look! Oh, and If you fancy taking any snaps down at the disco, forget it, the K610 doesn't have a camera light. Lets be honest if you want fancy stuff and better quality photo's then have a look at the K750i or the new K800i which is basically a camera with a mobile phone built in. Also missing form the K610 is infra-red, BUT there is a well capable bluetooth facility so I suppose you pays your money etc. Personally I don't find much use for infra-red these days but some will argue otherwise.

So there you have it! In my opinion the K610 will sell like hot cakes due to its looks and user friendly features. Even allowing for its shortcomings I wouldn't like to go back to the K600 or 608 having tried the 610...but see what you think!

I Have The Sony Ericsson K600i And The First Time

I have the Sony ericsson k600i and the first time i saw this phone, i thought that this is an upgrade to the one i have but i was really wrong...yeah the phone is stylish but what a waste of money if you'll gonna buy it...this phone really sucks, i tell you---no infrared port, no flash/photo light, no shutter and camera cover (if you'll scratch your camera lens then you're up the creek!!!), and no FM radio...fine, this time it has memory stick but that's all it have, that's all...if you already have the k600i, i do suggest to just be contented with it or better yet just have an upgrade to w900i or p990...this phone isn't really a good investment and will never be a better phone upgrade...nice try Sony ericsson but honestly this phone is just all about beauty, no brains...I'm just hoping that Sony ericsson will release a better version of this phone which has the (NEEDED!!!) features that they have taken out from this one! so, SE k650i, anyone?!

They have not added those features because they sell them separately, like the flash for example. You can buy it and attach it into the charging port and then use that. Yes, it's easier if they just put one on there, but it's their way of making money I guess. Also, who needs radio when you can upload MP3 yourself? No infrared... who needs that when most phones nowadays have bluetooth, and that's a lot better. No camera shutter? Unless you personally get a pin out and scratch into the lens, I, for some reason don't think it will get damaged, since the lens is no doubt made of a material which doesn't scratch easily. After all, I'm sure they have thought about it in the process of making the phone. I the Sony Ericsson K610i is a good little mobile phone myself. Although lacking some features, all the features that are needed are there. I think it's a rip off at the price though. But hey, I didn't pay anything, so I'm a happy bunny =)

Sounds to me like your only giving such a poor review because your so fed up at the fact you upgraded and didn't feel the need to. Really if you buy a phone, check the specs for what you want, its only your fault for buying a photo without a camera shutter. You don't even really need one, what you gonna do, get a key and 'accidently' scratch it on purpose lmao.

With a 2mp camera, the light is going to be fairly good into the lens, although a flash would be nice. It has bluetooth for goodness sake. Think I'll get one of these on a 12 month contract.
