Samsung X660

well i love it a lot because its small and easy to use, and i love the infrared port.

The Samsung SGH-X660 is a replacement for my Sony 300i (see previous review) and straight out of box I knew that despite being £20 dearer, it was a much better phone. More substantial (no fascia or battery cover-fantastic), better feel and one of the best looking phones on the market. Buttons have rubber texture rather than plastic and chassis and hinge are solid. Phone seems to be very resistant to scratches, despite being in and out of pockets and dropped on variety of surfaces, the only part to show any wear is IR sensor.

Menus are intuitive but not having fast access to camera on a camera phone is a bit daft, instead of Talk Now button on chassis side, they should have put camera.

Reception is always good, although if you have it on silent, even in jeans pocket you won't know when you have a call/text, due to poor vibrate function. Web access is a bit hit & miss although that is more network related, and beware the fact that phone blurb says email function, this is only through browser.

The only reason this phone isn't more popular, is the industry was moving towards sliders and Samsung was promoting D600 etc. A search on Froogle will get you this phone for £59.99 and I would have to recommend it, even for its minor failings.

The Samsung SGH-Z660 is a very good mobile phone! It has a great digital camera, and you can beam your photos to your computer if you can download the software. You can trade-in your old phone for a £20 discount, and you currently get a £20-off voucher for a friend to buy the same phone.

There is no way to know that you can't send the photos to your computer from the Samsung X660 mobile phone. It's not as if you could read the manual in the shop. You're made to feel like you're being rude just for asking to see the phone. Some phones have rubbish cameras. Resolution doesn't say much, because it's about light sensitivity, not resolution.

Samsung SGH-X660: I'm an avid user of Nokia and Motorola phones. After getting bored of using the same brands over the years, I decided to try something else and one day I just found myself in front of authorized Samsung phone dealer store.

What really caught my interest for this phone is the screen quality. I've never experience like this one in my previously owned phones. Even under the glare of the sun, I still can read what's on the screen. At night time especially in the car, I find the keypad lights evenly distributed to each key. Does not hurt my eyes even in the dark so my full attention is just on the screen. A superb consideration from the manufacturer.

Key press is very responsive even using the T9 method thus composing text messages is a breeze. Those who got bigger fingers will, I guess, never make mistakes punching the keys.

SMS/EMS and MMS have lots of features and options to choose from to make your messages more lively and dynamic.

Battery life is good, would last 2-3 days if you're just an average user. Charging time takes approximately 2 hours.

The phone is essentially basic with lots of addded modern day features and enhancements, ideal for middle-end users. If you're the one, you'll have no problems using this phone. World clock is a winner, very detailed and easy to use as well as the converter, calendar, timer, and etc... The phone's got a very good VGA camera X4 zoom. Pictures are of excellent quality with lots of enhancement and effects to choose from.

There's a File Manager that stores your images, sounds, music, video, and more. Sound quality is acceptable in making and receiving calls. Polyphonic tones are distinctive and can be heard even in a very noisy environment, thus you'll never miss your calls and important messages and reminders. I just missed the FM radio but I can live without it.

I don't encounter poor reception any time of the day since I bought this phone, strength is always on full bar though I live outside the metropolis.

It's style, I could say I never regretted having the Samsung SGH-x660. It's indeed a pretty and cool phone. You'll never need a second look if you see this phone. It cost me less than 200 American dollars but it's worth the money.

An excellent phone in its class. Perhaps with the same features with other phone brands could cost me more bucks.
