I have had the NEC e616V since it came into service, and i wouldn't part with it for anything. Most of the internet is free too browse and you get the news and a 5 day weather forecast free. A retro mobile..but great fun. and updated 24/7

The Nec E616v Is Absolutely Rubbish, It Has A Rubb
The NEC e616V is absolutely rubbish, it has a rubbish battery life and the shape is kind off rectangle with horrid buttons and a disgusting large screen. The only good point is the camera. I do not recommend this phone to anyone.

Overall, The Nec E6161v Mobile Phone Is Good, As I
Overall, the NEC e6161V mobile phone is good, as I only paid £45 for mine from Argos. It has Bluetooth, infrared, 2 cameras, memory card slot and video. It's not missing many features. I would recommend this to anyone, but beware the battery lasts no longer than 24 hours, and it can be quite complicated to do the littlest of things.

I Wanted A Phone That Had Some Good Features On It
I wanted a phone that had some good features on it, but one that didn't break the bank. So I am very happy with the e616V from NEC.
Firstly, the points that people have issues with.
The battery, yes, is not brilliant, I have to charge it every day, or every other day. But the battery has been improved, and you get a heavy duty battery as a spare. Plus, as it is a feature-heavy phone, using these features will put a strain on the battery. People seem to forget this.
The 3 network is not brilliant in terms of UK coverage, but it is improving every month. People complain that they can't get a decent reception. There's a 3 website out there which tells you if you are covered or not. Use it! Yes, the coverage is not great, but if you check your area first, you won't have any problems. I have great reception.
Now for the good points. The large screen is a good one, with higher resolution than many of the weird low-res screens Nokia insist on making. The camera is good too, true, I have seen better, but it's still very good. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. You can store quite a bit of music too. If you buy the memory stick, you can get around four full music albums on there, with room left for pictures and video. The video, if you play around with the settings, can last for up to a minute, which is good, but for an optimal picture, it's better to reduce the length to 30 seconds or so.
All in all, a very good phone. True, it is let down by the expensive tariffs, and the fact that it is large, but the features make up for this. If you are near a 3 or O2 mast, you'll get great reception. If not, then you should have checked first.
