I'm Mega Disappointed With The Nec E540 Phone. I L
I'm mega disappointed with the NEC e540 phone. I liked the looks and on paper it has all the bases covered. NEC seem more interested in confusing the user and limiting the phone rather than show off its supposed features. I believe that the same phone (although under a different guise) is a favourite in Japan, why? I'm not a 'must have the next new gizmo' user or prepared to pay hundreds of pound for something as basic as a phone so the E540 was a logical choice, wrong! I'll not purchase another NEC unit. I had a basic motorola V220 and C139 before it which were rubbish but at least they were easy to use. Summing up, it's a jack of all trades and master of none. Avoid if you want bluetooth connectivity, better still just avoid it....

I Was Tempted To Buy The Nec E540 By The Guy In Ca
I was tempted to buy the NEC e540 by the guy in Carphone Warehouse as a replacement for my old Nokia. I bought it because it boasted an intuitive menu system but I found later that this is not quite the case.Bluetooth is a massive disappointment as it won't work with all my friends' phones - so sharing pictures, videos and ringtones is a non-starter unless the sender also has IR connectivity. This is very definitely an area where NEC could vastly improve the phone! On the subject of IR connectivity, I was confused by the on-screen message "Receiving.... Cannot accept incoming call". I first read this as an IR error message - which it isn't. The same is true of many other on-screen messages.All-in-all, it's not bad value for the price but NEC could have done a much better job with Bluetooth and their on-screen messages.

My Nec E540 Doesn't Ring Loud Enough For People Wi
My NEC e540 doesn't ring loud enough for people with excellent hearing, the top volume is hopeless. You need to be Einstein to even follow the manual to try to figure it out. All in all, it is the most useless piece of equipment I have ever come across.

The Nec E540 Is Very Stylish And Good For Money.
The NEC e540 is very stylish and good for money. There is not enough memory. The Bluetooth only works with computers, not other phones and no one told me that and the manual doesn't explain the phone. It a good phone if you don't want a plain phone, but if you're looking for a phone with the works, then it's not the phone for you.

The Nec E540 Is A Good Looking Phone At A Good Pri
The NEC e540 is a good looking phone at a good price, however, there is not enough space, only takes KB not MB. The Bluetooth does not work and I cant find a USB cord for it. Overall it an all right phone but I wouldn't tell someone to buy it.

The Nec E540 Is A Nice Looking Mobile Phone With A
The NEC e540 is a nice looking mobile phone with a large LCD display. The price was good, and it has lots of features, which on the surface is quite impressive, but you try getting them to work. Also, the product handbook is nothing short of a joke, so if you are not an expert on mobiles give this phone a miss. I wish I had.
Why do manufacturers have to make their phones so hard to operate? Why don't they write in clear English so that even a novice can understand how to operate them?
Not NEC it seems! This will be the first and last phone that I buy from them.

What A Nuisance. All Round The Nec E540 Mobile Pho
What a nuisance. All round the NEC e540 mobile phone looks great. It has good specs and a very good price. But, I was more than a little disappointed to find out from the supplier after two days mucking about trying to transfer my contacts, that the Bluetooth does not work with other phones!
If you want to download tunes it can be used with a USB, but try finding a cable!
The best advice the supplier could give was to buy a Bluetooth dongle.
