I Have Had My Motorola V50 Since 1999. It Still Wo
I have had my Motorola V50 since 1999. It still works perfectly despite having had constant use, very heavy for three years, got very wet lots of times including salt water, was left in a forest for a month, used as a toy by children for a week (they scraped all the finish off the case inside and out and drew all over it in permanent marker) and subjected to a lot of impacts including falling off bridges and out of trees. For over a year it was used as a voice recorder during research in rainforests. It must have travelled over quarter of a million miles in total. When I first got it my girlfriend was dubious and said it would break within months. The opening mechanism does feel a bit flimsy, but mine must have been flicked open tens of thousands of times and it's still intact. Amazingly the screen is hardly scratched at all and the battery will still hold power for a day or an hour of calling. I now keep a foreign sim card in it and it is mainly used for texting, but it still functions perfectly. I've subsequently had variants on the V50 clamshell design up to the V3 Razr and they have inevitably disappointed me (terrible cameras, awkward buttons) and eventually failed me (usually display failures following impacts). The V50 is incredibly light and compact, much more so than any of its successors and consequently it's easy to loose. The V50 is easily the best phone I have ever had, but obviously they weren't all made to the same standard!!
I agree. A good value phone.

I wish I had never bought a Motorola V50 mobile phone!
If your dad offers you his old one from 1998 for free as a favour, do YOURSELF a favour and tell him, sometimes, you HAVE TO SPEND MONEY, and this is one of those times.

This Motorola V50 Has Got To Be The Worst Phone I
This Motorola V50 has got to be the worst phone i have ever bought! firstly, it takes ages to actually get to the message icon and then when you do, it takes about half an hour just to write a message!! My messages always sent to someone else in my inbox (not to who I wanted to send it to), and plus it doesnt show the person's name in the message inbox.
My phone broke after 2months anyway and i was thankful to get my Nokia back!!

3 Weeks After Purchasing My Motorola V50 The Phone
3 weeks after purchasing my Motorola V50 the phone simply went dead. It took it for repairs and the logic IC had blown - fair enough. 2 months later whenever I phoned someone they could not hear me - broken microphone. Writing a text message is such a marathon, it is easier to phone the person. Be sure to have the user manual handy at all times as navigating through the menu is a nightmare. Someones I would not get reception for a few hours at a time. Oh yes dont expect anything special in terms of ringtones. On the positive side the battery lasts for about a week and it is a fantastic looking phone. Would I recommend this phone to anyone? Not a chance, I would have rather started using my old Nokia 2110 (still perfect after all these years) that I still have lying at home had I known what I was in store for.

I Got This Phone 1 And A Half Years Ago And I Rece
I got this phone 1 and a half years ago and I recently upgraded to a T720i. At first the bettery life was alright but eventually it wore down so much that I was charging it every day. I think that the guy who says that he must just be the unlucky ones is actually the lucky one. I know people who've owned this phone and they agree about the battery life. It's nice and small and pretty good looking. However, the ring tones sound awful. I reverted to just keeping it on vibrate so that I didn't have to listen to them. Also, typing messages isn't the easiest, because the buttons are a bit dodgy.
