The Timeport Is A True Testament To Time Travel! P

The timeport is a true testament to time travel! People now sometimes ask me if I'm holding a cordless home phone given the multitude of mobile technology and appearance changes over the years. Needless to say the size isn't that much bigger than some newer phones and people often soon acknowledge that their newer phones seem to have problems and often need upgrading at least every 12 months. The worst problem I've had was when the battery connectors needed cleaning..

I Have To Start By Saying That Even This Phone Is

I have to start by saying that even this phone is almost 2 years old (as concept, not manufacture) I was impressed by the "feel" of it!

I used to love the motorolas 4 years ago but since then they stuck to OOOLLD technology and a variety of bricks that no1 wants anymore!Let's face it!They r waaaay behind...still!

Even after releasing all these new phones still siemens or even alcatel gives them class!

About the t260!VERY good finishing, EXCELLENT keyboard for wap and writing!I was amased by how well and fast responds to the pressings!I am a VERY fast typer and the phone doesn't lags for a fraction of a second even!It works amasing!

The software is VERY stable, doesn't retsarts itself, downs't freeze, anything!NOT even once in a few days i've been using it!

I use the phone for WAP over GPRS and GPRS connection only.It is fast, doesn't disconnects, not even once and the signal is good!It keeps on going for more than 3 hours on continuous using.

It has voice command for 9 of the more used things in menu!So if u need sms , u don't look 4 it, just say "sms" and there u have the menu:)(u have to set it up of course!).This is a BIG plus in my opinion:)3 minutes of voice notes and some tags for most used dialed numbers completes the good parts of this phone;)

DON'T use the menu! ahahah Make the necessary changes and then don't use it!u'll get nervous real soon:)This is one of the minuses along with the bulkiness. These things are the only bad parts:)Oh, the light is a little pale but it's ok:)

I've Had One Of These 'phones For Two Years Now An

I've had one of these 'phones for two years now and it seems to just lose connection to the network randomly. To get it back I have to manually scan for networks. The screen size is just too small for me without glasses on (although this is probably more my eyesight deteriorating) and is difficult to see in low light conditions. I like the Motorola user interface (having always had Motorolas) but I won't be buying another after this.

I Totally Agree With Most Reviews - Avoid This Pho

I totally agree with most reviews - avoid this phone ! Actually, I'll avoid all Motorola phones from now on ! I still own a 6 year old Nokia 5110 (dirt cheap), and prefers it over the Timeport by far !!!

The Interface For This Motorola Timeport 260 Mobil

The interface for this Motorola Timeport 260 mobile phone is simply designed by a monkey. Everything takes forever and is not easy to remember. There is no alarm clock.

The only reason I bought this phone is because it was one of the only triband phones then available with Vodaphone. Almost immediately the battery began to run down after a day or so. The reception has always been poor. After ten months the screen pixellated. I was given a replacement phone which also developed a fault. The phone kept on displaying "enter pin" a few seconds after I made a call or someone called me. Solution - I bought a Nokia 6310i - the difference is amazing. Functionality and I haven't charged the battery up for a week.

Generally The Motorola Timeport 260 Is A Very Usef

Generally the Motorola Timeport 260 is a very useful tool and I would encourage the company to improve more on its size and also increase the window size for browsing purposes.

This Is A Good Phone. I Like The Voice Dialing, I

This is a good phone. I like the voice dialing, i like the voice notes. It's a mature and professional phone. The games are replaced by voice notes which allow up to 3 minutes of recorded notes. Good technology, such as the ability to switch from US 1900mhz to european 900/1800mhz network with the click of a button replaces pretty covers on other phones.

Overall, I would recommend this phone to anyone. If you travel to europe or the usa a lot. this is the phone that you can take anywhere.

I Am Using The Motorola Timeport 260 Mobile Phone

I am using the Motorola Timeport 260 mobile phone for almost 4 months. A GPRS phone from the great motorola should be equipped with far more helpful functions that any mobile. It should be equipped with an organizer, alarm,...etc. so the mobile becomes a mobile data center: not just a mobile. Also the software should be more user friendly. It never hangs such as N.... a reliable phone. I am not looking for logos and ring tones but motorola ring tones never change since years and are very limited. different internet sites state features that do not exist and that lead me to get that phone instead of t250. I suggest that motorola should put T250 software for T260 (please do it to me).

I Just Purchased The Timeport 260 Mobile Phone In

I just purchased the Timeport 260 mobile phone in Singapore yesterday as a result of my frustration with my Nokia 6210. The 6210 was a wonderful gadget to play and work with... except that it kept on hanging and failing. And finally, after just four months of use, it finally decided to die. The Nokia sevice center has had no success resurrecting it for more than 24 hours (it's still there in their intensive care unit - with all the technicians etc, it was a cute piece of junk).

Back to the timeport 260. It did not come with a manual - only 2 disks for the GPRS upload setup and the sync software. Unfortunately both do not provide for an interface with the Jornada 720 -which is the computer I use for IR when travelling (my Compaq 1700 laptop has no infrared port - expensive incomplete and worse of all runson Windows ME - never never buy a machine with Windows ME). If anyone knows how to make the Timeport260 work with the Jornada 720 please let me know. Thanks.

I tried downloading the user manual from the motorola site - try it - it doesn't work. You just keep on waiting forever for nothing - I hope those software people in Motorola could fix their customer service orientation.

The Timeport 260's itap feature would have been close to the nokia dictionary feature except that you need to press ok after each word, and that button is way up. Bad ergonomics.

In fairness, despite the cumbersome access to messages, the quick access feature which allows a user to assign buttons has made reading messages a lot easier. Quick in this case means two key strokes - the arrow button then the key number you assigned the read messages command to.

In the end if Motorola can only buy the software friendliness of the Nokia and keep the reliability it is reputed to have, the phone would be perfect.

People, I Don't Know How Often You Change Your Pho

People, I don't know how often you change your phones or how much they cost in the UK, but here in Serbia they are really cheap ( NOKIA 6210 is about 200EURO -only a phone with no contract; MOTOROLA T250 is about 150 EURO......), so I changed a lot of phones. NOKIA has the simplest menu, but that don't mean anything for me. MOTOROLA has a bit more complicated menu, but this is no problem because you can be sure that the phone is really good. Most people who uses NOKIA are between 16 and 21 year old. Older people mostly are not intrested about phone functions, and just want an "easy to use phone".

If you expect phones from MOTOROLA to be just like NOKIA, you would be disapointed! MOTOROLA (especially Timeport 250, 260 or 280) are something more.

And something for Mr.Graem: there is no MOTOROLA factory or something like that in Serbia , so I cannot work for them!
