You Can Take Pictures And Record Video Clips With
You can take pictures and record video clips with the Motorola A835 mobile phone, but the camera isn't so good. Most of the time it's blurry and distinguished with no flash, so it is only very good in very bright light. When you are trying to record it is slow and becomes increasingly blurry, which is very annoying because you have to stay still to get a half-decent picture, and that is hardly the desired way of filming a video clip. After a while of having this phone (about two months) it became slow, and takes forever to load anything. I don't know if this is the case for many of these phones or just mine, but I have heard many complaints about it. When doing other tasks, ie: not on the main menu, you cannot see the time, so you have to go back to the main menu each time, which is quite irritating.
The quality of the ringtones are not much to cheer about, just the same simple tones each time, and downloading new ones costs quite a bit. There are a lot more things that I hate about this phone, including the size of it (why on earth is it so big?) and weight (weighs down my bag, and there is no need for it to weigh so much, it's stupid, really), but I won't go into lots of detail. Also, you cannot save pics or video clips to your sim card, therefore if you were moving to another 3 phone and taking your sim card with you, you would still have to delete all your pics and clips. Another reason that probably added to my hatred of this thing was the fact that it is a '3' phone, in other words, only 3 sim cards can be used in this, and 3 sim cards can only be used in 3 phones, so if I wanted to get a new phone, (which I most definitely am) you would have to transfer to another network, getting a new number.
To be honest, I wouldn't want to stay on 3. The minimum credit you can get is £10, and that runs out after a month.
In conclusion, don't buy it!! Sorry!

This Mobile Is The Best Perfect In Every Way
THIS MOBILE IS THE BEST
Perfect in every way except size but to me that doesn't matter. The Motorola A835 has got everything a phone can have, how better can you get? If you're full of picture/video memory just simply transfer them to your computer. With heavy use the A835 will just last a day (battery life). Otherwise with normal use about 3-6 days (with it switched of at night). Another advantage is it has one camera on each side, good for self portraits. All in all an excellent phone.

If It Wasn't For The Size And The Unreliabilty Of
If it wasn't for the size and the unreliabilty of this phone it would be one of the best out there. Unfortunately I know a few people who have owned this phone & we've all had problems with it. Corrupted files (lost photos & videos), cuts out when in conversation, keylock doesnt always work, i could go on. I had to get mine repaired but it came back with only a few of the many prblems sorted. The MP3 player is the best I've heard though. The video & picture quality is average. Now the E1000 is out I think everyone should buy that.

The Motorola A835 Doesn't Hang. Mine Doesn't Have
The Motorola A835 doesn't hang. Mine doesn't have a network lock. You can compress divx into 3gp and watch on the phone...South Park :] The ringtones atract atention. The batery lasts 2 days easily (it's quite normal for a phone like this). For power-users there's a 1400 li-on battery ;) It's one of the best phones in my country. It's rather cheap.

If The Motorola A835 Were Used On Any Network Othe
If the Motorola A835 were used on any network other than 3 then it could be a reasonable phone to use. However it would be better used as a wheel chock as it's big enough to hold back a wagon.

I'll Start With The Good Points. The Phone Has A H
I'll start with the good points. The phone has a huge speaker on the back which gives good sound volume (if not the best quality), perfect for those who struggle to hear their phone ringing if it is in their pocket/bag.
The phone also came with a data cable and software for the PC which was great to use once you had spent many an hour sorting out how to configure it.
The bluetooth on the Motorola A835 is great although you have to turn on a fuction called "find me" to allow anyone else with a bluetooth phone to connect to you - this only stays on for 60 seconds and there is no way of making it permanent.
The screen of the phone is very good and the camera is fantastic in broad daylight, while it is sturdy enough to have no problems coping with being dropped in those more careless moments.
However...
I am afraid that the A835 has more bad points than good.
Its a massive phone and looks terrible.
The text messaging is very difficult to get the hang of. I've had the phone for 8 months now and I can still write 2 words on a Nokia phone in about half the time I can write one on the A835.
The contacts list is very strange in that it puts all the numbers under one person's name together but then when you come to edit something about that person, it only changes that thing for one number - you have to change it for each individual number stored for that person.
If the phone's battery becomes low it comes up with a noise like most phones do. However, this noise cannot be turned off even when the phone is in silent mode and so you have to turn the phone off or risk interrupting people in meetings, lectures etc.
The above is made all the more irritating by the fact that the battery life of the A835 is terrible. I started off getting about 2 day's life (including having my phone off at night) - and this has now decreased to about just over 1 day. I don't use my phone more than a standard mobile user so this in my opinion is terrible.
As I said earlier, the camera on the phone is great in daylight but as soon as you take it anywhere dark-ish and put on the night mode facility, its useless. Night mode appears to do nothing.
All in all the phone is good quality hardware but its software really lets it down. Its hard to use, and when you work out how to use it, it doesn't do what you want it to anyway. I would recommend the 3 network but with quality phones like the LG 8120 out and available for free on a contract, do NOT go for this phone.
Hi, I have just bought the A835 phone and it's great. I have read in some of the reviews of the phone that it has a light show when someone phones you and I do not know how 2 get this 2 work and how do you get rid of the beeping when you loose signal as this is very anoying.

In My Eyes When I Got The Motorola A835 I Thought
In my eyes when I got the Motorola A835 I thought it was great but charging the phone every night you know it's just crazy. And now what happened with my phone is that it won't even charge anymore so I took it away for repairs and not just once 5 times and they still have not solved the promlem if I was you I would not even stare at this so called mobile because it is a waste of space and that is a lot of space that can be used for someting else.

Don't Be Tempted By Any Offers On This Phone, The
Don't be tempted by any offers on this phone, the Motorola A835 is a waste of time and money. I'd like to say the 3G features were an asset but having had little coverage since buying the phone I've been unable to take advantage.
