I Bought This Product Off Ebay For About $200(au)
I bought this product off ebay for about $200(AU) and am generally pleased with the phone. Unfortunately i wasn't supplied with a manual, so i probably haven't experienced all the phone has to offer. One bad point is the way the backlight turns off when the phone is open (sms, wap, etc.) I overcame this by flicking the top right button (used for voice dialling) up and down, this turns the light back on. Although it has it's little bugs and impracticalities, i've fallen in love with this phone and will most likely buy Ericsson's from now on. (my value for money is 10 because i only paid $AU200 for it)

The Ericsson R380s Mobile Phone Promises Everythin
The Ericsson R380s mobile phone promises everything that you dream of especially if you are on the move with a PDA and a phone - your chance to combine both. It doesn't work - too slow, often locks up, and is simply painful to use. A terrible shame - can't help thinking that the computing power is not sufficient for all the functions and memory requirements.

I Seem To Be Having The All Problems Reported Here
I seem to be having the all problems reported here on my Ericsson R380s mobile phone.
1. The paint scratches easily.
2. The touch screen constantly locks up on incoming calls making it unable to answer.
3. Every single call i mak is discconnected with in one minute.
4. Even in the middle of the city it is constantly showing no signal.
5. It runs very slowly.
6. Often fails to send SMS.
It's been in for warranty repairs for 5 weeks and now Ericsson tell me thay cannot find fault and I suppposed to live with a phone that just wont work properly.
Even though the phone has lots of features and combines PDA features with a mobile phone, it all comes to naught if it just wont work.
Rating: Dud!
Your phone's broken mate. I've got one and had none of the problems you had. First one I got was a duffer (rattled inside - salesman must have dropped it on its head) but they swapped it at the shop for my current one and it's the best WAP phone I've ever seen. Superb call handling and excellent reception. Cut and Paste is really useful between the WAP browser and the notepad. Waiting now for a Sony Ericsson P800 (the natural successor to the R380) but I'm keeping the R380 as a spare.

I was excited about this Ericsson R380s phone to begin with, but that soon faded. The phone gets slower and slower, and the battery life is unacceptable (I have to charge daily!)

I've Only One Advice: Do Not Buy This Phone!
I've only one advice: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
In the beginning I was very excited about this R380s phone from Ericsson. The interface looked nice and the hardware was compact. The interface of NOKIA phones maybe not that fancy at all but one can be sure of the fact that they NEVER crash! Conclusion: I'll buy myself a new NOKIA and never again an Ericsson.

The Concept Of A Combination Phone/palmpilot Is Gr
The concept of a combination phone/palmpilot is great but it seems the technology is not yet capable. Ericsson have damaged their reputation by releasing this product, the R380s, before having perfected it. Bugs in my phone include the following: Slow boot-up; Slow software operation; Pastes numbers instead of locking keypad; Software crashes frequently; Backing-up software difficult to use.
