Unhappiest

Utterly Useless

Doesn't work; won't update; breaks down over and over again; maps out-of-date from the moment I bought the unit; awful technical support, with one person contradicting another.

Exactly the same problem I have had. The worst satnav company between here and Mars.

Snooper Strabo - Unreliable

This is a basic unit which is relatively easy to use. However, it is totally unreliable.

My unit broke down three times in three years and, the last time, the rather arrogant people at Performance Products who make the kit, insisted on payment. They said it was now just out of warranty and even though they accepted it was unusual for a unit to breakdown so often they still insisted on payment for the repair.

The so-called customer service people kept saying I was just unlucky - great thanks !!

I'm off to Tom Tom

Be warned

Beware of Map Updates too, at the moment of speaking I have purchased a map update DVD but can't seem to get the data on to my Strabo. Technical support at Performance Products seems clueless and very unhelpful which is a shame as I like the device and find it useful.

The Snooper Strab S360 Unit Itself Is Small And Co

The Snooper Strab S360 unit itself is small and compact. The instructions are nice and clear. Unfortunately I find it is often about 10m behind. So you need to pay a little attention. The battery life is also pretty poor - they claim 3-4 hours, which is probably about right. It has a mp3 player built in - which is pointless. I buy a sat-nav to navigate, I have an iPod for playing mp3s! Free speed camera updates. Though not free map updates. I have found a couple of postcodes it doesn't accept. Though if that happens I've always found the location by searching for the town and road on it instead. I like it overall. Biggest drawback in my eyes is that the instruction do lag a little. Doesn't matter so much for the "in 500 yards..." instructions but the "turn now" ones are often a little late, so keeping an eye on the display is helpful if it is a complicated junction.

Ive Had No Problems With This Unit, Easy To Downlo

Ive had no problems with this unit, easy to download speed camera updates from their website which are free for life, bluetooth works fine which is useful for car and using on a motorbike. Only fault is the battery runs out quickly so you need to use the car charger on a long journey

Been Trying To Download The Camera Info - Very Poo

Been trying to download the camera info - very poor user information. Screen freezes occasionally. Allows full postcode entry but then reshows address showing 5 digits of postcode - confusing.

When I finally get the camera data downloaded I might give this a better rating, but at present I give this 6/10.

Clear Display And Good Camera Warnings When It Wor

Clear display and good camera warnings when it works (quite often loses GPS signal and hence No Navigation and No Warnings). Poor GPS Satellite location.

I found this review helpful because I was about to purchase this item, but changed my mind. It may be very good when it works, but I can't take the risk of it letting me down.

Slim, great visual map, intuitive use & the best speed-camera database in Europe. The voice prompts are as well timed as a Tom Tom. Battery could last longer.

This Is My First Satnav Which I Had As A Christmas

This is my first satnav which I had as a Christmas present. It is very easy to use and easy to see when placed on the windscreen cradle. It can also be carried with you to find a location on foot in a large city, for example. I have used it to travel to museums which it recognized under Place of Interest. It has a full postcode search as well as find by city. It also warns of speed camera locations and schools (option). I think it is very good for someone traveling alone on unfamiliar roads. I haven't used the MP3 player as you have to remove the SD card which contains the mapping information.
