Had For Two Weeks. Traffic Did Not Function B
Had for two weeks.
Traffic did not function both times I used it. First time was 21st December 2009 when I became stranded in Reading for 10 hours... not mention from the satnav traffic feature that there where any delays at all!
Second time used 6th January 2010 from london to North Wales. The last hour of the journey it decided to guide me off the major route and through small country villages where the roads were extrmeley icey and dangerous.
Went straight back to Halfords, and they very kindly exchanged it for a Tom Tom one Europe IQ Routes. Haven't had this long enough to test yet, but previous Tom Tom V3 Europe Traffic was superb!
Finally, I have found that instructions are sometimes a little slow on the Garmin and resulted in me missing the occassional exit...perhaps a fault with my particular device??

My 205 Was Purchased To Replace My 550 Which Was '
My 205 was purchased to replace my 550 which was 'possibly' nearing its days. I have now had it for about 2 months and find it simple and easy to use. Garmin is of course a name to be reckoned with in the world of Sat-Nav. Any Mariner whether professional or leisure will tell you this. Their build quality cannot be faulted.
My sole criticism would be the map updating mechanism on the Garmin Website. This is long winded and far too Tekkie. This isn't an update but a complete re-installation of the Maps. Over 3.5 Gigabytes this can take several hours to download. I fear that many people will find this task beyond their capabilities. I had some difficulty with it despite my modest knowledge of Computing.
