Hey Everyone. Recently Bought One Of These Infinit
Hey everyone. recently bought one of these Infinity 1240W Subwoofers second hand from a friend and for how much I paid (£40), I got the sub and an enclosure and I'm very pleased with it's performance.
Quick tip for you: You cant just put any sub in any enclosure, the best thing you can do is contact the manufacturer and find out its optimum volume. Most 12" sub woofers are around 35-40 litres.
I chose this sub based purely on the music I listen to - bigger isn't always necessarily better. Some people go down the routes of using 10" subs for dance and hardcore music, 12" for rock, R&B and drum n bass, and 15" for rap. So you can probably guess I like to listen to a bit of rock, R&B and drum n bass.
Features a butyl cone for clean and tight bass.
I currently don't have an amplifier but I ran it off a friends Vibe Slick A7 (very powerful). The sub has a nominal power input of 300 watts RMS which is quite a lot, but it can handle up to 1240 watts. And the frequency range is 23-400 hz
The Slick A7 amp that I was running my sub off has a power output of 300watts RMS at 4 ohms, 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 750 watts RMS at 1 Ohm or a max output of 1300 watts which was more than enough to get this going.
Once we adjusted the variable gain this sub had some serious bass and I feel this sub has met my requirements - I am now very much looking forward to getting an amp for Christmas.
Regards, Tom.
