3 Months Old And On Its Way Back For Repair For The 2nd Time
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Awful product, bought it for my daughter for christmas, she told me it wasnt charging in February, i checked everything and Samsung took all details and was told I would be contacted by courier for collection. Week later it truns out that the repairer (Anovo) had done nothing, so i chased them - courier arrived - after I was told don't ship back anything except the tablet - just hand that to the driver. Driver eventually turned up with a plastic bag - no protective packaging!
Two weeks later it comes back - it works (great!), only to have the same failure 1.5 weeks later.
Now go back around the whole circle again. Courier is coming in a weeks time (ie 7 days after I called them!).
I have asked Samsung for a refund as I think the product is not fit for purpose, they say it has to have been repaired 3 times before they will consider it. (They are obviously well rehearsed with repair rates).
Absolutely appalling product, appalling service, and frankly will not allow another Samsung product over the threshold of my house ever again.
By contrast, I have an IPAD which I use for work and home use and 1.5 years on have had no problems whatsoever...
Hi! Do you have any review on the Tab 3?
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Does Not Have Hdmi Compatibility
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Model GT-P5110 in Nov 2012 for my wife and we are exceptionally pleased with it as it lives up to all expectations. However!!
I found it very difficult to find out about its ability to connect to a TV using the Samsung HDMI Adaptor EPL-3PHPBEG. After a lot of surfing I found that there are a lot of owners in the same situation who are very frustrated at the lack of finite information on the subject. I eventually found that the Samsung HDMI Adaptor EPL-3PHPBEG is NOT compatible with GT-P5110 and will not enable it to connect to a TV.
For further information there are 2 versions of this tablet.
Model GT-P5113 is the US version, which is compatible with the HDMI Adaptor and allows it to connect via cable to a TV. It also has an Infra Red (IR) blaster (transmitter) on the front edge which allows it to act as a remote control for a TV, using a Peel App on the tablet.
Model GT-P5110, which is for everywhere else, including the UK. It does not physically have an IR blaster fitted and is NOT compatible with the HDMI adaptor for TV connection.
Your Model No can be found in "Settings". Scroll down to "About device"
I am one of the lucky ones who has had a reply from Samsung!! the exact wording of the reply was:-
"Please note, in order to display the Samsung Tab 2 on your HDTV you will require a SMART Hub enabled Samsung device. Both devices must be connected to your home network in order to connect properly. If your Samsung TV does not have SMART Hub, you can use either a Samsung Blu-Ray Player, or Samsung Set Top Box that has this feature instead."
Hope this is of use.
Really helpful review. Its a real pity that the techno bods in all the high street outlets are unaware of this info. I really feel cheated by §amsung and having spent 250 on my GT-P5110, im finding this bit of kit not fit for purpose. I am looking for an alternate tablet that not only can connect to a tv, but a tablet that can receive the §ky go app. Seems sky have blocked the samsung fablet due 'to its HDMI output'.
