Great - No Problems - What A Nice Change!
I returned my Kobo mini and didn't flinch from giving it a poor review, saying I would buy a sub £100 Android tablet. At that time I hated the brand 'Kobo' and WHSmit*
About a week later I was back in WHSmit* with the sole intention of having a possible 'free read' from an (Android mag) , pointing to the best android buys, ho ho ho and then leave.
My plan went very well until this Very nice femme assistant asked if I needed help. All my bad-will vanished, what a soft touch (I am 60), She recommended this 7'Tablet on display from personal experience, and I eventually bought it!
Since then I have had it for a week and am convinced that I couldn't have bought better, for £130 on special offer from £190 ( I broke my budget ).
The drag screen up down etc was smooth (what did I know?)
The picture screen was excellent,
It felt like a quality item.
Excellent 1280 x 800 HD resolution; 215 ppi ( the screen has lots of techie praise.
Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Micro USB cable.
1.5 GHz dual core processor. 1 GB RAM 32 GB Storage.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (not previous ice crem ver.)
Micro usb connectivity (cable not supplied)
720p HD front-facing camera (1.3 MP). Autofocus. Face detection with Face Unlock. Skype™ Certified.
16, 32, and 64 GB models.
Now I know that the market is vey competitive and that you can buy tablets online and from Fleabay etc, but when I tried it, it sold itself. There will be many bargains, but spending say £10 to £37 more online at Amazo* can get you a Nexus 7 - but old spec 1280x800 16 Gb (look at the specs - very similar) - but spend extra £60 and get later higher specs. appx £200 - 22/09/13 prices. Please do your own accurate pricing comparisons.
From what I've seen, this does all the Epub, pdf, Video, Android games etc that any of the others can do, but not 3g (which some cheaper makes can do.) It does it well, I've watched BBC iplayer films etc and I recommend it.
I must praise WHSmit* for the no nonsense refund of my previous Kobo Mini (a sad item nown - laying on a WHSmit* shelf somewhere, feeling unloved and unwanted -)
Negatives: Not 3g, Doesn't appear to have bluetooth.
