Windows Vista Is Intensely Frustrating, Unfettered
Windows Vista is intensely frustrating, unfettered garbage. Anyone upgrading from Windows XP is in for a shock, and should think twice before parting with their cash for this. Vista is not an operating system as such, it's more like a pretty interface with a bad attitude, and it enjoys nothing more than to interrupt your tasks by barking demands at you via pop-up windows asking for your permission to do just about anything. You want to install a program on your own PC? Tough luck buddy.. Vista is in control now. You'd better save your work often, because if the automatic reboots (without warning) doesn't stop your computing pleasure, the sound of your PC flying out the nearest window certainly will. Skip this one and install Windows 7.. or better still, keep XP installed.

It Is A Fairly Good Software, But It Would Never B
It is a fairly good software, but it would never beat XP. But I hope Windows 7 will be even better, and some of the old programs etc. will be back from older Windows applications (such as the 3D Space Pinball).
Good & easy to use, but misses some of the old programs.

I Was First Amazed When I Saw Windows Vista On A C
I was first amazed when I saw windows vista on a computer exhibit since it looks so "fluid" just like Mac OS. But soon, after running to some problems and crashes, I discovered that still has many flaws.
What I don't like about it is the irritating pop-up window when you're trying to open a program. It keeps on popping like a virus. If I have a hammer I would smash it.
I guess they made some revisions with windows 7.. let's see if it improve.

I'd Used Windows Xp For Many Years And Absolutely
I'd used Windows XP for many years and absolutely loved it (5 stars). I bought a new low-end laptop 4 months ago with Vista pre-installed, and my experience has been much worse.
What I like about it, is it still has all the function of XP - it's still a sophisticated OS. It was also very easy to get the wireless access working (easier than XP).
Its weakness is the performance. On my laptop, Vista consumed most of the memory just to run, which meant it ran very slowly indeed. XP would have run fine. I did improve things by turning off the "aero" look and feel, which made it look less good, but run faster (a good tradeoff as far as I'm concerned). I also switched from IE as my browser to Firefox, which speeded it up again.
Overall, I'm not terribly happy with the purchase, I wish I'd got XP again.

I Marked A Score Of 5 For Value For Money Because
I marked a score of 5 for value for money because it came with my laptop.
Vista has a generally bad reputation. I'm not a total software/OS whiz, but I can tell you that Vista is great once you get used to it, and the fact that it asks you before it does ANYTHING with the exception of shutting down. Hit that button by accident, and it's gone.
It's prettier than XP, and I like Vista better now. I still use both because we have XP at school and Vista on both my laptop and the main PC, downtairs.
Vista is good, I can't think of much else to say, other than that I am scared to get Windows 7 until I know someone who has used it for more than three months. XD

I Got Microsoft Windows Vista As Part Of An Oem La
I got Microsoft Windows Vista as part of an OEM Laptop, good spec but they put vista basic. Firefox kept grinding to a halt and apparently firefox and vista dont get on, at least not until 3.5 came out. Vista trys to hard and ends up being frustrating. It pops to many alerts and stops processing when it shouldn't and it is very memory hungry. I blasted the hard drive and bought XP. It has many years being developed and patched and now its the comeplete OS system (unlex your a unix/linux dude) Shame theres no money in stable OS otherwise it would be XP for ever, and so we wait to see what windows 7 is all about.

Vista Is The Next Best Thing Happened To The Manki
Vista is the next best thing happened to the mankind since the landing on the moon. I had problems when I installed it soon after the release, but M/S bent backward to give me technical advice. I have two XPs but never use them because they are outdated.
I have four Vistas, in the house, one laptop & three home brew, one 64 bit & three 32 bit.
I will not change them for anything in this world & I mean that.

Much More Intuitive Than Windows Xp Much More
Much more intuitive than windows xp
Much more attractive than windows xp (the translucent appearance of windows is very cool)
A lot more sophistication in look and feel than xp
Lastly but most importantly - very very stable, it has not crashed even once in the 4 months that I have used it.

I Have Had Windows Vista Home Premium For About A
I have had Windows Vista home premium for about a year now, I think it was a little confusing to start with but that's because it is a whole new thing. Some software doesn't work on windows vista but in time all the new software will be compatible with it. I thought you couldn't have XP games on vista but found out you can, by right clicking the shortcut, properties, compatibility tab and tick run as windows XP (service pack 2). It looks the bee's knees with the transparent effect and switch between windows. I also like the sidebar but that makes your computer really slow. Windows live OneCare; I can't review because I haven't had a message from it detecting a virus or anything, so I don't know what the point of that. You can test your computers performance by the base score, this would help you to sow you the direction of upgrading your computer. Windows media centre always seems to freeze on me and I can't see my mouse on the screen when I open it so that a bit rubbish. But I still think Windows vista is still worth getting because it is the latest Windows operating software out and if you get a new computer it will have windows vista on it so you might as well get used to it.
