Punch Super Home Design Suite

I bought this because I want to redo the exterior of my home and wanted to see what different colors and such would be like. It took a while for me to get the hang of the software.

When I finally got my floorplan done and went to do the exterior I was sorely disappointed. It says unlimited colors, but that seems to pertain to paint on the interior walls, not to the siding on the exterior. In addition, I wanted to add trim when I tried stucco on the exterior, it wouldn't let me do that either. I also tried to divide a wall, half brick, half siding and it doesn't let you do that.

It is fun to play around with and fly through your house, but for serious building and exterior planning, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I tried to add a roof with different angle and gables and cannot get the ridgelines to match up. I read the FAQ's at their website and it appears you have to have a higher version even though the pictures clearly show merged ridgelines. I sent an inquiry to their tech help over 3 weeks ago and all I got was an automated e-mail offering a "special" price.

Punch Super Home Design is good for rookie in construction, it can be a little hard to upgrade but once done so its very easy to learn how use.

If you like the Punch Super Home Design Suite, I would upgrade to a higher version. The added features make it much easier to use. If you sign up for their newsletter you can get updates pretty cheap. I just upgraded from the Platinum 10.5 to the newest version 12 for 19.99 and was able to download it.
