Perfect Office Suite For 95% Of Users, Does An Ama
Perfect office suite for 95% of users, does an amazing job considering MS hides all of their office format information. Supports ODF open standards, so you will always be able to open your documents in years to come, something MS has trouble with even now. You can open doc, xls, ppt and pps files perfectly nearly every time. For creating your own documents its really easy, infact many people prefer its interface as it is not the ribbon like the new MS editions. Oh, to send a document to someone else, chose save as, and save it in a format that they have software to open it with. If in doubt, use RTF rich text format.

I'm Always Recommending Open Office As A Very Good
I'm always recommending Open Office as a very good alternative to Microsoft's overly-expensive office suite, and I'm usually met with blank looks and the occasional "never heard of it".. but when I explain that it does everything you'd expect from an office app, and it's free, they think I must be mad. Open Office is a very capable set of open-source office applications, including writer, spreadsheet and database utilities that I strongly recommend. Give it a go, and you won't look back.
