Link It Software Job Master

This is a poorly written program that is very overpriced. With so many job shop programs on the market, the $2000 price tag (Sales price with Quick Books integration) will buy you a MUCH better program than Job Master!

Data entry is problematic. Unless the cursor is at far left, data entry is corrupt, and it doesn't always default to far left. ANNOYING to say the least!

No way to enter Part Numbers except to create quotes or job orders (what they call a sales order).

The quoting feature is basically useless since you must know the price per piece to do a quote. However, if you track a job through the shop, whether in Job Master or another software program, you get a cost for that total job and from there you calculate a piece price. In order to use Job Master's quote feature, you're going to have to use a 3rd party program (or something you set up yourself in Excel, for example) to get a piece price so you can then do a quote! Job Master's quote feature cannot calculate that for you, even though their own program's job tracking gives a total job price, their program can't convert that to a piece price which is what's needed in their quote feature! Does this give you an idea of how badly written and poorly thought out this software is?

There are no "options" so you can't turn off annoying features like being asked if you want to discard changes and exit every single time you exit a screen by hitting "cancel",....just one example of repetitive messages. that can't be shut off. Very annoying and time consuming to constantly have to deal with them.

It says it integrates with Quick Books, but it is such a weak feature it's pretty much useless. In addition, it only goes one way, so if you're already using QB, you have to manually enter all your customer and vendor list (and others) info as there is no way to merge that into Job Master.

Except for the program manual you can download and print, there is no access to any kind of help menu. (and regarding the downloadable manual, be prepared to buy a ream of paper and at least 2 ink cartridges to print it out...then punch holes and get the whole thing into a LARGE 3 ring binder....expensive and time consuming....and then it isn't that much help when you do get it all done.)

No upgrades or improvements since the program was written. Whatever money they're making on this software is going into their pocket because they aren't doing ANYTHING to improve the product or address user problems.

There are so many other problems you will encounter with this program when you use it every day, day after day, that I could go on and on. But rather than take the time to try to outline all of them...and there are countless examples, just believe someone who truly regrets the $2000 mistake of buying Job Master. I can't begin to tell you how sorry we are and how many other choices there are for the money...and less expensive...that will do a much better job for you. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! STAY AWAY FROM LINK-IT SOFTWARE'S "JOB MASTER"!
