BitDefender Total Security 2009

I dl a cracked copy as I always try before I buy and the programme deleted the patch file before I could install it! This was a bit annoying as the patch was a file I clearly wanted to use. I got round this and liked it on the whole as the interface was easy and it was pretty unobtrusive so I bought a genuine copy for the online backup doo dah. Used it for about 1 month and the false positives really turned me off it. Also the resource use didnt affect me so much but I wouldnt really recommend it for the budget computer user. I now use the free Avast instead with sygate firewall and like it much more.

I have used Bitedefender for over 2 years now. I bought a three year license. I am a computer/IT professional.

Overall Bitdefender does its job quite well. it doesn't impose a massive burden on the system.

The only problem I have had is with Bitdefender support. It is simply non-existant. I have reported an error (not found by Bitdefender) for the last 3 months and have not received a reply.

In summary, if your system runs OK, then this will be fine, but don't expect any help if you get infected. Your best course is to re-install your whole system, as bitfdefender support offer NO help whatsoever.

This Anti virus (malware) Software I'm currently using was me upgrading from Bitdefender 2008, which to be honest I thought could not be improved on vastly. I was wrong, it has all the bells and whistles of the previous version. Such as Backup, Tune up (Defrag drive, clean up internet files, obsolete registry file cleaner..), Parental control, web limiter, application control.. imagine being able to control who goes on msn and when? Now you can keep your kids safe, I have two of my own so theyre always glued glued to msn, but not when theyre supposed be asleep with Bitdefender.

Anyhow with the new 2009 total security I was able to Scan faster after first scan because its binary scan ive been told its the fastest scanner out there. I did 150,000 files in less than 15 mins on normal average spec now 4 year old machine.

It has 2 GB of online back up which is useful for all those files you want secure just in case your PC decides to give up. I have yet use it but its there and thats nice to know lol, also it has the all important Gamer Mode, that really works for all those gamers out there try it you'l know what I mean... oh did say it still has small system memory foot print? About 80MB even when running full scans.. theres so much to this program I'm still learning, but most important thing is... IT PROTECTS YOU FROM NEW AND OLD THREATS and I don't know why people havent bought it yet. Recommended A star product. I'll be installling it on all my machines from now on... and my mates.

The best antivirus program ive ever bought, I've used Kaspersky its not bad and not really.. its still slow compared to Bitdefender and less reacitive at picking up threats.

I had a small problem with BitDefender2008 which was probably of my own making.The email help from them was excellent and they switched me to the 2009 version which contains a few more refinements and without any request from me extended my subscription period by a year from now.That is what I call service.Value for money 10/10.Excellent phone support at UK phone ratesi.e. to most now free in evenings. Well recommend BitDefender Total Security 2009.
