Lightwave 3D

Lightwave is getting pretty long in the tooth by todays standards, but despite its age, it's still a pretty solid modelling package with plenty of features. My main gripe with it on the whole, is that the mesh editor and scene editing tools are not integrated into a single application, and the experience seems a little dis-jointed. However, judging solely on results, in the right hands Lightwave is an excellent tool.

Worth a try, but see if the alternatives suit your needs better before spending your hard-earned cash. I would have preferred a more comprehensive quick-start guide and feature-overview from the get-go, but I'm fairly happy with my purchase.
