Other People Seem To Have Had Problems With The Pr

Other people seem to have had problems with the printer, my experience however is the opposite. Have had the printer in daily use for over a year now in a small business environment, and apart from the occaisonal paper jam which is common in ALL printers, it has not let me down yet. Have printed well over a 1000 sheets and still using the same cartridges supplied. No funny smells, no excessive and very quick neat printing. Will probably buy another rahter than cartridges as this is cheaper!

This Is The Worst Printer I Have Ever Bought. It I

This is the worst printer I have ever bought. It is huge and cumbersome, and is tricky and temperamental. The colour quality is very poor. The only thing going for it is the price of the item, but it takes a small fortune to keep it in ink. It gives very little warning that a cartridge needs replacing and seems to demand money every week. It does not provide the number of pages per cartridge as advertised. I absolutely hate it. I'd give it no stars if possible. Don't buy it.

Back Of Printer (where The Fuser Is) Overheats Con

Back of printer (where the fuser is) overheats constantly, so we need to turn it off to let it cool off. We get lots of paper jams, and even after clearing the path, it tells you it's not clear, so we have to do a hard reset every time. I am a computer engineer and have own lots of printers, and by far, this is the worst printer I've ever own. You get drawn to it by its price, but you do get what you paid for. Very sad, since the high end $2000 Xerox color copiers we have at the shop are great. I guess they just didn't know how to build a small version of it. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this printer. Look at other brands or more expensive Xerox models.

I've Had This Piece Of Rubbish For About Three Mon

I've had this piece of rubbish for about three months now.

Initially, I was impressed by the seeming value I was getting - a reasonably snappy colour laser printer for next to nothing, as far as colour lasers go.

However, a number of bugbears soon raised their ugly heads:

1) Print quality: The print quality is grainy, and not nearly as sharp as my 10-year-old HP Laserjet 4L. The quality is comparable to a mid-range bubble-jet. What's more, darker, dense colours tend to create a dense "smear" on the paper, which seems to get rubbed off as the paper moves through the machine's innards.

2) It overheats: Long printing runs will cause the printer to halt, which requires a switch-off and cooldown. This forces you to count pages to restart the run, and double-sided printing becomes an absolute nightmare.

3) Poor reliability of the printing mechanism: After about two months, the black started becoming streaky, and has come to the point where black printing is almost invisible. The printer reports 83% black toner remaining. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips but nothing works. It appears as if the black toner transfer roller is being starved. There may be a blockage, but whether it's in the cartridge or the main unit, remains a mystery.

All in all, I can only reiterate what has been said before: You get what you pay for. I regret buying this printer, and Xerox really ought to have thought twice about releasing such a poorly tested product to a market segment that represents lots of people dipping their toes into the colour laser waters.

Not recommended.

Cheap To Buy, But Let This Be A Lesson To You. You

Cheap to buy, but let this be a lesson to you. You really do get what you pay for.

I purchased this printer from an online retailer (Misco) on September 11th 2008, it remained boxed until I moved house 3 weeks later. On October 25th it developed a fault. Persistent paper jams resulting in complete breakdown of the exit rollers, these are not fully acessible to clear paper jams. I also suspected an overheat problem as the ink was cracking on printed documents and there was excessive curling on the paper output. Contacted the company I bought it from and they told me to conatct Xerox as I had had it for more than 30 days. Called a premium rate number for Xerox support, spend some time explaining the problem to the person on the other end, who transferred me to another '6110 dedicated team' (what does that tell you?), however, she didn't explain the problem to the guy on the phone, so I had to go through it all again!

After about 30 minutes on the phone, I finally was told an engineer would come to have a look at it, as yet cannot comment on this as the engineer has not been yet.

I bought this printer to replace a faulty Samsung CPL-300 - be warned this is the same printer, re-branded as Xerox. Had I known that, I would never have bought it. The Samsung developed the very same problem after 2 weeks and thankfully the retailer at that time refunded me.

All in all, these seem to have a very, very short productive lifespan, so really not value for money.

I would not recommend this particular printer, nor do I think I'll be going to Xerox again. I'm going back to Epson, they have never let me down, in 15 years.

Wow! Can't agree with you more. Our Xerox Phaser 6110 has a very strong odour as well... is it really modelled on the Samsung printer you mentioned as I've just purchased several Samsung ML2010's (mono) and they seem to have the same problems, paper jamming especially!

I cannot use this printer. I have used other brands of Color Laser Printers. This one is the worst.
