All My Comparisons Are With Epson Printer/scanners

All my comparisons are with Epson printer/scanners that I have owned in the past. I wished I had brought another Epson! First of all, the ink. The HP uses up black ink very fast. I have changed cartridges multiple times for relatively little printing. The first cartridge provided with the machine I probably got less than 20 pages from. Secondly, the HP scanner. It needs re-alignment constantly. Images often come out at an oblique angle to the way they were placed on the scanner. Yet without re-calibration, this changes back to normal with subsequent scans. The HP software offers multiple places to store scanned images. But your choice of default seems to change with different times the scanner is used. I find myself trawling though multiple folders for the image I have only just scanned. A bonus with the HP however is that you can scan part of the page/picture etc on the screen. Downside is that you have to be very precise with dragging the cross hairs into position. If you click on the wrong part of the image, a whole new selection window comes up. My advice if you are buying cheap end of the market scanner/printer/copier, get an Epson rather than HP. My former Epsons never needed re-calibration. Ink seemed to last forever. Epson Software is intuitive to use.. and is like a simple version of photoshop.
