Brother DCP-540CN

I have had nothing but problems with this Brother DCP-540CN printer. It consistently jams and does so in such a way that it makes it nearly impossible for all the paper to be successfully removed from the interior of the printer. It consists of many gimicky plastic parts with feel like they will inevitably break within the year of purchase. I also cant say I am particularly happy with speed at which it prints. All round, it was a regrettable purchase.

Print head packed up after 700 pages, just 14 months old for me. Would not buy if I had known, better to buy one with a changeable print head and cart all in one like the hp psc series in my opinion. Therefore I do not recommend Brother DCP-540CN.

Network capability, excellent picture, easy to use, full of functionality, cheap ink. Printing from computer on 4x6" photo had borders, but with SD card it didn't. Worst point of the Brother DCP-540CN is that it starts cleaning the heads whenever it feels like it. Whereas this may not annoy some people, if you have it in your bedroom don't be surprised if it wakes you up at 3am! Great printer throughout
