Toshiba Satellite A205 S5880

The Toshiba Satellite A205 S5880 is hands down the best bang for the buck. I leave mine running for extended periods and have not had any problems with over heating. As for Vista, I was totally opposed to it before I got this machine, but now that I have it, I don't think I'd want to go back to XP. I have not experienced any compatibility issues at all. My experience with Vista has been seamless thus far. (I have owned this machine for 6+ months.) Get one. You won't be disappointed.

Unbeatable value in my opinion , the 15.4 widescreen is excellent for size,might be a bit cramped for games but work wise its fine.8.4gb dvd burner is again excellent and something not all laptops come with.With 3gb ram burning cds and dvds is a breeze.

200gb hard drive is a good working size , plenty of space for everything and more.

I use mine approx 18 hours a day for work and its left on , ive experienced no problems with overheating but have utilised a belkin fan laptop stand lately just to be sure.

At first i was disappointed that im stuck with Vista but after a few months ive realised i dont really use the windows anyway for anything but a launch pad for other programs and the web.No i dont like Vista but its bearable.

Worth shopping around as ive seen the Toshiba Satellite at different prices, shop around and patience is the key to value.
