I would NOT buy another Samsung as they obviously have an inherent defect.

Cost Of Spares Borders On Prohibitive, And Limited
Cost of spares borders on prohibitive, and limited to just a couple of Samsung approved contractors.
The Motherboard failure looks like a common one to the P28.
I'll not have another Samsung
Helpful review. The Samsung P28 LVC 340 is a great looking laptop.

I Have Been Using The Samsung P28 Lvc 340 For Almo
I have been using the Samsung P28 LVC 340 for almost a year now and with the technological advancements ever on the rise, with the Sonoma on the go and other specs such as DDR2, PCI eX; still I find the P28 very satisfying to use. I have upgraded my memory though to 1 GB and now it works even better with the Radeon 9000 now sharing the 128 MB for the graphics support.
My experience with the Samsung Products has been overall much better than any other brand and would like to switch to Samsung for my other products in the near future as well.

I Bought The Samsung P28 Lvc 340 At The End Of Nov
I bought the Samsung P28 LVC 340 at the end of November 2004, I have found it very nice to use and I am happy with it; I use it set up with two routes (at home, with home internet, etc. and then also at work on the campus network); it has been fine.
I had a Sony Vayo FX705 for 2 years before the screen died in November. Sony did not want to know (which reminds me of the person whose negative review I just read, saying 'Samsung didn't want to know': does anyone?)
Obviously this is a faster processor etc. So I feel the advantages of that.
Sony's screen was suberb, superior to the P28, but in the end it was the screen that died.
I think it's a matter of luck, and laptops are not as sturdy as PCs.
