Packard Bell Computers Are In My Experience Very G
Packard Bell Computers are in my experience very good value for money. Just wait though until you need some assitance or customer support. It is virtually impossible. I have tried many times to contact them by email and have never had a single response. I have tried taking the computer to various computer shops including PC World where I bought the computer only to be told Packard Bell won't supply parts to anyone. The faulty laptop is now sitting in box doing nothing and I cannot get it repaired. I will never buy Packard Bell again....

The "i Go" 2000 Is Actually A Very Powerfull Lapto
The "i go" 2000 is actually a very powerfull laptop and the most surprising aspect of it was the 32 mb graphics card. But I soon found out that the card does not procude some of the shadowing effects and other features that the Ati and nVidia graphic cards do. To most people this is harmless since they probably don't play games like famous Splinter Cell, or Metal Gear Solid that require a 32 mb graphics card but won't run on this PC. This PC is great, for using most of todays standard applications like office, AOL, most GAMES (specially strategy) and IE explorer, and at £999 it is still a great investment for the future. The overall design of the laptop seems pretty good to me, it stands out, maybe too much. I have had it for 4 months now, and it definetly doesn't seem like it is falling apart anytime soon.
I go 5581 is RUBBISH. I am programmer and I work with computers my whole life. The processor (
AMD ATHLON XP - obviously ) is overheating and the computer keeps restarting. If you go to packard bells website forum, believe me you can read a lot of posts with exact same problem but I didn't find any answers. My recommodation: DONT BY PACKARDBELL NOTEBOOKS.

I Owned A Packard Bell Easy Silver One And It Was
I owned a Packard Bell Easy Silver One and it was fantastic. Upon upgrading I assumed that the igo 5581 would be of equal quality...far from it. It has great specs but is made REALLY cheaply. Just touching it feels as though it will fall apart. Cd drive feels though it will fall off the rails. As the keyboard is designed to lift out, many keys clunk and it is not smooth to type on. It's annoying to play music and watch films 'cause the speakers screech. Power cable keeps falling out the back. List goes on. I have owned it for 5 days and it is going back!! Shame on PB for making such a flimsy product. It is obvious they have lowered their standards.
what a load of nonsense, you do not own one for sure but only dream of having one!!!
well id have to agree on the keyboard comment and the power supply but other than that i cant comment on the speakers as its my first laptop.
the only other complaints about it the fact that the USB ports have gone real sloppy and that i cant find any other info on it apart from the initial spec
