Overall A Good Laptop But Very Delecate And If You

Overall a good laptop but very delecate and if you dont want to spend a little money on it I really wouldnt bother buying this and the manufactorers are really hard to get hold of you have to call a stupid company called tech guys what take about a hour to explain the problem to them also they battery is crap on this laptop will last about 30mins when its brand new and after you have had one for about a year it lasts about 2 minutes, do not recommend Advent 7019a.

I Have Just Bought This Advent 7019 Laptop Pc For

I have just bought this Advent 7019 Laptop PC for £450 after promising to buy myself one for a long time. Advent may not be a major player in the current Laptop market compared with the likes of Sony, HP Compaq and even Acer but what it lacks in reputation it makes up for in quality.

It's a powerful computer and runs very smoothly, where it's 1.6GHz Intel Celeron processor simply laughs at the amount of processing power Internet Explorer 7 and all the media programmes use up.

1024MB RAM means it will be able to handle Windows Vista, Microsofts next gen operating system without any problems. The standard for computers being able to upgrade to Vista is 512mb RAM. The laptop is also offered with a free Windows Vista upgrade when it is released, although its Windows XP Media Centre Edition operating system already installed is fantastic.

60 GB of memory gives plenty of room for all you need when you buy this type of Laptop. Music, videos and even large software packages will only use a fraction of the hardrive. The Advent 7109A also comes with a DVD re writer which was certainly a factor in opting for this model over some other well known brands laptops, that didn't have this feature.

The Wireless Enabled feature makes connecting to the Internet a doddle and can be done in under a minute the first time you get onto the desktop. If you have a wireless router in your home simply set the wireless switch on your laptop to "on" and it will scan for networks within range. Select your network and your online.

The only negative thing I have to say so far about this Laptop PC is the battery life. When not connected to the power outlet it will only get you around 2 and a half hours of life, which means if you were outside using a wireless access point you'd have to be quick. However the battery icon will estimate how much time your battery has left to run and give you two warnings; one when battery power level is low, and the other when power level is critical.
