I Purchased This Laptop 7 Months Ago - And Suddenl
I purchased this laptop 7 months ago - and suddenly the screen started showing some weird colours now and then. Around the same time the battery started losing life - and would work less than 10 minutes after a full charge. I sent it to Acer warranty who then asked me to pay around £80 for battery replacement - as their small print stated that batteries are only covered for 6months under warranty. I felt this is ridiculous as all the laptops I have owned until now (Toshiba, IBM Thinkpad, Sony etc) have all lasted me around 3 years or over with good battery life. I have had to return this back to the retailor for a full refund after an arguement and still lost money. If you want to avoid such problems - DO NOT BUY ACER

I bought an Acer Aspire, impressed by the spec of the model and the competitive price tag. Even asked an IT friend and he was similarly impressed - but he'd never bought Acer before.
Within 3 months of purchase a fault developed where the machine would go into hibernate and not wake up. Returned, repaired only to find that whatever replacement part they'd fitted had created another fault. Sent it straight back, returned, with only half the problem sorted. Sent back again with poor covering note. All in all I was without my laptop for about 7 weeks in total as it was sent back 3 times. It's come back, complete with matching scratches on the surfaces and absolutely no acknowledgement of my disatisfaction, let alone an apology.
