Hello, The Reason Why I Bought This Laptop Was Ind
Hello, the reason why I bought this laptop was independent graphic card, AV output and good speed performance. That entire staff about overheating is true. Fan is collecting big amount of dust from below and blocking main air outlet and then heat can't leave the laptop. Before I found out reason of this problem I was very disappointed, but good cleaning schedule is avoiding this problem a lot. AV output doesn't work any longer in colour, but I'm not using it anyway. Only what I'm missing is possibility to dock it, but this is a problem of all cheap laptops. I wasn't aware of it before purchase. At the end I can assume that after 2 years is still working and without any major faults

I've Had Nothing But Problems From The Beginning W
I've had nothing but problems from the beginning with the computer. I had only 9months before i had to send out for repairs and it was out for over 2 months.
I do like the camera and the built in microphone-but overall it was not worth what i paid for it-my purchase was hasty because i was in such bad need of a computer. Overall, I seem to have bad luck with computers and sales people taking advantage of me and telling me what i need and don't need. My next purchase will be a Mac(maybe) or just a very good PC.

I Recently Bought A Aspire 5315 For My Son And Was
I recently bought a Aspire 5315 for my son and was impressed with its general performance and speed. I then picked up a second hand 5720 for myself as it offerd an extra USB slightly faster specifications, and a card reader built in. The unit I got was reported as faulty and hot. Looking into the reason its the same as every other laptop I have used. The cooling fan is on teh undersude and it draws in a lot of dust however I wasnt expecting quite as much as I found. This particular unit had a huge amount of build up on the heatpipe heatsink fins. You need to remove the fan to get at this and using a paintbrush and hoover clean it out. The unit had got so hot previously that the lables had deteriorated and so had the hard drive as it had been cooked. Any owner of this should open up the underside and clean out theh dust on the heatexchange ( heatpipe radiator) Guarantee it will runa lot quicker. I kg and reeep reading the many users have heat problems after a year. This is probably teh reason why. Dust Build up. Other than cleaning and replacing the hardrive as it was cooked and flaky nothing else has changed. Operating Windows 7 its a great machine for the money just needs some TLC....

I Have Had This Laptop For About 14 Months Now An
I have had this laptop for about 14 months now an regret buying it. Grantred it is cheap and a good spec for the money BUT, its cheap feeling, within a week of use the paint had been wiped clean from the mouse buttons, it runs VERY hot with the fan running full pelt all of the time, DVD/CD burner no longer works, mouse pad is extra sensitive - often find the cursor in odd places in the screen where my hand passed within a inch of the mouse pad.
If you are considering one of these I would suggest saving for another month or so and buying something a bit better - with the ACER 5720 you get what you pay for!
You review is exactly the same as mine-the mousepad being ULTRA sensitive, it get's very hot. I had mine for 9 months when it had to be shipped out for some new heating element and it was out for 2 months supposedly getting this done....oh and guess what-it's doing it again. I can't even restart it decently anymore. I turn it off and it won't boot up again. I have to wait a good long while for this.
I completely regret buying this computer and i paid way too much for it...i could have bought a Mac for the price of this and the repair plan thing i got on it. Oh, and never ever EVER buy from Radio Shack-especially if you live in Wisconsin.

I Have Had A Great Deal Of Difficulty With This Ac
I have had a great deal of difficulty with this Acer Aspire laptop. I've had it about ten months, and it no longer detects the battery so I have no choice but to run it always plugged in.
Another problem that is incredibly annoying is that it often overheats. By often - let me give you an example. Last night, over the period of about two hours, it shut itself down EIGHT times. This problem has got progressively worse since I bought the laptop.
It seems to shut down more often when I use sites such as youtube or facebook or when I listen to music on Window's Media Player. Also, uploading and viewing photos seems to result in it shutting down.
On the positive side, I am pleased with the screen and the overall image of the laptop, though it is a bit heavy.
